I, along with every other millennial, have fond, fond memories of Topshop's Oxford Circus flagship store. I grew up in the middle of nowhere – two-and-a-half hours outside of London – and the headline act of any mother/daughter trip to the capital (an annual occurrence, for those interested), was a three hour slog around every corner of every single one of the five floors. Much to my mum's dismay.
The shop was 90,000 square feet – a feast for fashion fans – and was said to attract upwards of 28,000 visitors every day. Whew. Every envelope of birthday money I ever received went towards an imminent Topshop haul; but not just spent on clothes. You could get a manicure in-store, buy cupcakes; get a tattoo, even. And littered amongst all of that fun, Topshop's coveted collaborations with Christopher Kane, JW Anderson and Kate Moss ensured the store's appeal spanned far past my pocket-money-earning age group.
It was a sad, sad day when the store closed its doors – a result of the company going into administration in 2020 and being bought-out by ASOS a year later. But, reader, I bring good news. This weekend, Saturday 16th August 2025 to be precise, Topshop is making a comeback with a Trafalgar Square AW25 runway show no less.
Its arrival comes after several teasers from the brand's Instagram account starting way back in spring, with “We missed you too,” and “We've been listening,” in the captions. Since then we've seen an announcement that Cara Delevingne will face the re-launch with BTS of her in a tailored suit as well as a cow print jacket. Reminding us that Topshop is nothing if not a do-it-all brand.
The best part? The event this weekend is open to all; no ticket required. Doors open at 11:30am, the runway begins at 1pm, and the after show – featuring a Good Times party bus, turning the capital city's central plaza into one giant dancefloor – will start just after.

Is Topshop making a comeback?
If you haven't already gathered from the above info: Yes, it's returning this Saturday 16th August 2025 with an AW25 runway in Trafalgar Square that's open to the public.
For those in-the-know, the revival won't have come as too much of a surprise. In September last year, ASOS sold a majority stake in Topshop to Heartland, a Danish fashion brand that already owned Vero Moda and Jack & Jones. At the time of the deal, the new owners hinted at a return to the high-street – and members of the fashion set with an eagle eye have been lapping up further clues since.
The website (topshop.com) remains under wraps with a ‘coming soon’ trailer and the option to sign up to the waitlist and receive updates on the brand's latest products, collaborations, events and site launch, so while we're all waiting, I've made haste with an autumn-appropriate Topshop order via ASOS.com, which I thought you might like a sneak peak at.
If you're planning on heading into central to witness the runway yourself – you'd be mad not to – you'll want to be wearing head-to-toe TS, no?
There's lots of '80s tailoring on-site right now, inspired by the likes of Saint Laurent and Schiaparelli who sent plenty of nipped-in waists and shoulder pads down their AW25 catwalks. Elsewhere, black is the new black according to Chanel, McQueen, Hermès and now Topshop. The brand's sheer maxi skirt with lace inserts is already selling out, as is a faux leather washed bomber jacket that you'll wear right through the fall.
Ahead, shop more of my favourite Topshop pieces while we await the launch.
