Never Have I Ever season 4 will be the show's final bow, and less than a month until its release, Netflix has finally unveiled the show's official full-length trailer.
The streaming service's coming-of-age comedy about Devi, an Indian-American high schooler jumping into adolescence with both feet, won instant fans following its release in 2020, and it looks like the show will end on a high.
The trailer picks up where season three left off, with Devi hooking up with her long-time frenemy Ben. The trailer shows the protagonist awkwardly trying to avoid him in the following weeks, citing her admission into the prestigious Princeton University as her main focus.
The show will focus on “mental health issues faced by British teenagers”.

"I think we've really grown into being the poised, fearless women we always dreamed we'd be," she is heard declaring. However, her friends quickly note her discomfort around Ben and encourage her to talk to him. However, things are made difficult when Devi's ex-boyfriend Paxton returns to school, bringing old feelings to the surface. In another twist, she also finds herself infatuated with classmate Ethan who has transformed into a hunk after going through puberty over the summer. What will unravel, and which boy will she choose? Or does she focus on herself and Princeton? Viewers will have to watch to find out.

When was season four announced?
On March 8, 2022, the streaming giant announced that the final batch of episodes would come out in 2023. Series creators Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher released a statement, saying, “Hey Crickets, we've got some morning announcements for you: Season 3 of Never Have I Ever is gonna drop this summer! Speaking to Insider, Devi herself, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, said that the series would conclude on a "cathartic" note. "We're not setting up the scene," she said. “We're diving deep and the stakes that you feel usually in the middle of a season, we're starting there,” she said.
Last year, she posted a sweet note on Instagram along with a video of the call that changed her life when she officially booked the part. She promised to give the last episodes “her all” to make the fans “proud.”

Meanwhile, co-creator Mindy Kaling said that it made sense for the show to end in its fourth season. "Four seasons for a high school show felt like it made sense," she told Entertainment Tonight. "They can’t be in high school forever. We've seen those shows. Like, you've been in high school for 12 years. What is going on here? Also, the actors get older, and it starts looking insane that a 34-year-old is playing a 15-year-old."
Despite graduating, Paxton (Darren Barnet) will be returning for the final season of Never Have I Ever along with fellow Devi love interest Ben Gross (Jaren Lewison). However, it looks like this love triangle is about to become a love square. In a new video shared during Netflix's Tudum event on September 24, Never Have I Ever introduced the “new heartthrob of Shermon Oaks High.”
In the clip, we learn that Ethan is a “smouldering bad boy” portrayed by Michael Cimino. As Ramakrishnan says in the video, “Damn, Devi's gonna have her work cut out for her.”
On April 13, 2023, Netflix announced that the fourth and final season will drop on June 8. They also dropped the first teaser. As the video's narrator says, “Buckle up, nerds. It's senior freakin' year.”
