It's been an AWESOME week for new music. Sam Smith is back with a heartbreaking ballad (yes, we've already cried three times while listening to 'Too Good At Goodbyes'), Zayn and Sia released their highly anticipated collaboration, 'Dusk Till Dawn', along with an epic action-thriller style video. Oh, and Kelly Clarkson has returnedwith more sass than ever. But that's just the tip of the iceberg!
We've got some great tracks from the likes of Foo Fighters, SZA and Demi Lovato. And what's more? There's a brand new arrival on the scene and she hails from a music dynasty. Check it out...
There's just no stopping US singer/songwriter SZA at the moment. Just last week, she hit the charts with 'What Lovers Do' - her upbeat collaboration with Maroon 5, and this week, she's surprised us with yet another new song. 'Quicksand' is on the soundtrack for HBO series Insecure along with her hit single 'Supermodel' and anyone who loved SZA's debut album CTRL will love this too. It's a mix between groove and the alternative R&B we know and love her for.
With the release of their eagerly-awaited new album Concrete and Gold next week, Foo Fighters have dropped yet another gem. 'The Line' is the third single from the band's album and in true Foos fashion, it combines a propulsive melody and heartfelt lyrics.
Hailee Steinfeld has teamed up with Swedish DJ Alesso, American music duo Florida Georgia Line, and singer/songwriter Watts, for her latest single 'Let It Go'. The song is all about wishing the best for an ex that has been mistreated or undervalued by you. If you liked her previous song 'Most Girls' or her radio hit 'Starving', you'll love this one.
Demi Lovato has surprised fans with yet another track from her upcoming album Tell Me You Love Me. As the title suggests, 'You Don't Do It For Me Anymore' is about falling out of love with someone or losing an interest in that person because of the way they've treated you. Can you guess which ex it's about? cough Wilmer Valderrama cough.
Speaking to MTV about the song and the upcoming album, she said: âSometimes you put out music that you just feel like everyone is going to know who itâs about.
âHeadlines are going to come out of it, and itâs like, when you write a song, youâre just being vulnerable, and youâre just writing about something thatâs inspiring you, so all the baggage that comes with it is what Iâm kind of nervous about,â she added. âWhatever you want to think about it â you go into whatever theories you have â fine. But I know what itâs about and who itâs about and Iâm just going to let it be.â
Selah Marley is the daughter of R&B legend Lauryn Hill and the granddaughter of, you guessed, Bob Marley. If that isn't the ultimate recipe for musical genius then we don't know what is. The 18-year-old has already modeled for Beyonce's Ivy Park and Kanye West's Yeezy and now, she's released her debut single, 'Breathe'. The song shows off her soulful vocals and has a chilled, alternative R&B vibe.
