One of the best thing about a great film can be it's music. We've pulled together the best movie soundtracks from the last few decades, spanning Grease and Footloose to more recent legendary music from titles such as Carey Mulligan's Promising Young Woman and Lady Gaga's swansong A Star Is Born.
After all, Titanic's heartbreaking storyline wouldn't be what it is without Celine Dion's iconic vocals – didn't we all spend every school disco hoping to meet their Jack when this song played? Not to mention the grooves in Pulp Fiction, Black Panther's amazing tribute from Rihanna and – of course – Dirty Dancing. Need we say more?
Here is GLAMOUR's ultimate round up of the best movie soundtracks.
We can't wait to sink our teeth into this.

Legally Blonde
Who hasn't played Hoku's Perfect Day to lift up a bad day, or soundtrack a great one, Elle Woods style? The legendary movie turned musical, starring Reese Witherspoon, has some cracker tunes.
Encanto
Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote eight original tracks for the beloved 2021 Disney musical movie about a beautiful community in the Columbian mountains and protagonist Mirabel.
The Greatest Showman
You can't help but sing along to the musical movie favourite starring Hollywood royalty including Michelle Williams, Hugh Jackman, Zendaya and Zac Efron.
Top Gun
A true 1980s classic, with Tom Cruise in his prime. Danger Zone remains an ultimate motivational, action hero anthem to this day.
Scott Pilgrim vs the World
With four original songs from Beck performed by Scott Pilgrim's band, this one's the perfect soundtrack to rock out to, during or after watching the movie.
The Lion King
We can't get enough of Hakuna Matata and the Circle of Life, not to mention Elton John's rendition of Can You Feel The Love Tonight?
Promising Young Woman
We don't want to give too much away for those who haven't seen the film, but director Emerald Fennell's use of Paris Hilton's Stars Are Blind is sublime and should be studied.
Dirty Dancing
Where do we even begin? Use of (I've Had) The Time Of My Life for the world's most romantic and iconic dance scene to end a film, or the gorgeous opening with Be My Baby? The film is perfect, as is the soundtrack.
Titanic
Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On will forever belong to Titanic's Rose and Jack. But we pretty much adore it too, especially when we want to belt it out in the most melodramatic fashion.
Drive
Drive is not just a sexy, star-studded film featuring a romance between Ryan Gosling's Driver and Carey Mulligan's Irene, it also has a boppy soundtrack full of infectious electro tunes, including Desire's Under Your Spell.
A Star Is Born
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga broke our hearts over and over in A Star Is Born, not least with their incredible performances in Shallow, all about throwing yourself into a new relationship, and we can't talk about Gaga's rendition of I'll Never Love Again without weeping.
Mamma Mia
A gorgeous Greek location, a cast stuffed with Hollywood's best talent – Amanda Seyfried, Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth – and all of Abba's best soundtracks performed on screen for all of us to delight in? The biggest treat.
The Bodyguard
Whitney Houston has our heart forever for her performance in The Bodyguard, and the songs she sung will live on forever as an empowering mantra.
Submarine
Written completely by Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner in his New York City home, the Submarine soundtrack is catnip for all us indie gals and boys. The film tells the story of teen boy Oliver Tate, who is intent on losing his virginity and saving his parents' marriage.
The Parent Trap
Lindsay Lohan, we love you. But we also love the songs made immortal in perhaps her best movie ever, The Parent Trap – Soulful Strut, played when the twins do their legendary handshake, There She Goes by The La's and Nat King Cole's L.O.V.E are all an integral part of this nostalgic comfort film.
Forrest Gump
As we journey through some of history's most iconic moments in Forrest Gump, we similarly take a tour of some of the best songs of all time, such as Hound Dog by Elvis Presley and Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Foot Loose
Kevin Bacon's Ren is horrified to learn that the town his family have relocated to has a ban on rock music and dancing. Of course, this story brings with it some excellent songs, including title track Footloose and Bonnie Tyler's Holding Out For A Hero.
Grease
This one surely needs no introduction. Olivia. John. Summer Nights. Hopelessly Devoted. The ultimate high school romance and the most iconic soundtrack.
Trainspotting
A book, film and soundtrack that defined a generation. Whether it's Lust for Life playing while Ewan McGregor's Renton is chased down Edinburgh's Princes Street or the genius use of Underworld's Born Slippy, these songs belong to the story, quite rightly.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
The incredible first movie in the Pirates franchise is undeniably the best, partially due to its stellar soundtrack – composed by the one and only Hans Zimmer, we'd expect no less.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
The Black Panther movies feature some incredible tracks, including All The Stars by Kendrick Lamar and SZA. But our favourite is the beautiful Lift Me Up by Rihanna, which is a tribute to the life of star Chadwick Boseman, who played King T'Challa/Black Panther.
La La Land
The music in La La Land is swooping and epic, like its location and romantic storyline, led by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. They play two young lovers who are set on following their dreams in LA – will their love survive each other's ambition?
Saturday Night Fever
John Travolta at it's very best. A fabulous movie and musical, Saturday Night Fever is filled the brim with Bee Gees classics.
The Graduate
You've got to love Mrs Robinson by Simon and Garfunkel, and the folk rock duo also featured four more tracks on the movie's soundtrack, which stars Dustin Hoffman and Anne Bancroft as the older lover Mrs Robinson.
Pulp Fiction
From Uma Thurman and John Travolta's unforgettable dance to You Never Can Tell by Chuck Berry to Dusty Springfield's Son of a Preacher man playing when their characters meet, the musical choices in this film are everything.
8 Mile
Who else knew all the words to Lose Yourself around the time 8 Mile came out? Eminem's semi biopic is full of great tracks from the star himself, as well as the best from the Noughties R&B world.
The Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club created a 1980s anthem with Simple Minds' Don't You (Forget About Me), a karaoke classic to this day but played to perfection in a movie of high schoolers stuck in detention.
Moulin Rouge
On top of Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor's blinding vocal performances in Moulin Rouge, we cannot forget about P!nk, Lil Kim, Mya and Christina Aguilera teaming up for Lady Marmalade and making all of our dreams come true.
