A Kate Moss biopic is on its way! The film, named Moss & Freud, will be based on the story of the supermodel sitting for painter Lucian Freud in 2002 – and casting announcements, as well as a first look, have already dropped.
The very first still from the film has been released, showing Ellie Bamber as the iconic Moss posing on a ladder wearing a giant ruffled skirt and a Union Jack jacket. We first saw this look sported by Moss back in 1993 on the Paris runway, going on to wear the ensemble for a second time for the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.

We love to see the return of this incredible look and can't wait to see it on screens.
Ellie has also been pictured wearing the original navy blue sequinned gown that Moss wore to her 30th birthday at Claridges, so we know that the movie will cover this huge milestone.
Here's everything else we know so far about Moss & Freud.
The duo play enemy snipers turned lovers in new Apple TV+ thriller The Gorge, and sat down to play GLAMOUR's Bestie Test.

Moss & Freud plot
It was announced back in May 2022 that Kate was producing a film about her relationship with artist Lucien Freud, for whom she sat for a nude portrait session when she was pregnant with her daughter Lila in 2002. The movie will document Kate's experience of sitting for Lucien's famous painting, which went on to sell for £3.9million at Christie's.
We know that the painting came to being IRL when the model mentioned in an interview that she would love to be a subject of one of Freud's portraits. He also tattooed a pair of birds on her back. “I mean, it’s an original Freud,” Moss later told Vanity Fair. “I wonder how much a collector would pay for that? A few million? If it all goes horribly wrong I could get a skin graft and sell it! It’s probably the only one on skin that’s still around.”
Upon the announcement of the film last year, Kate said: “Sitting for Lucian was an honour and incredible experience… Having been involved in the project and script development from the beginning I am now very excited to see the film come to life.”
Moss & Freud will be directed by Oscar winner James Lucas, who Kate also showered with praise in her initial statement. “After watching The Phone Call I knew that James would convey the emotion in the storytelling in a fitting way, one this memoir deserves,” she said.
James also gave a little more insight into what we can expect from the film, describing it as a “precious and unconventional love story”.
He said: “In many ways, I believe all paths led me to make this film. Its topography, emotional and psychological drama, bohemianism, beauty, characters and artistic process all align with my life and the way I have lived it. So much so, I symbolically begun writing the screenplay in Lucian’s studio, the scent of his oil paint still lingering in the air. I’m grateful to Kate Moss and the Freud Estate for entrusting me with this precious and unconventional love story. It allows our diverse audience to take a look behind the curtain and see, truthfully, what makes these cultural titans tick. Not only will they find incongruity but, perhaps surprisingly, a type of commonality that is threaded through all of us.”
Moss & Freud cast
The casting of Ellie Bamber was approved by the model herself, since she is an executive producer on the project. She said in a statement: “As this is such a personal story of mine, it has been essential that I be involved with James in all aspects as the project has developed. I am thrilled by the recent casting and excited that the film will begin shooting soon. I cannot wait to see it.”
Ellie is known for her roles in The Serpent and Nocturnal Animals, and will play the role of Kate alongside award-winning actor Derek Jacobi, who will portray Lucien Freud.
