Celebrities do wacky things on camera all the time (remember the Slap?), but obviously, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. That was just a fun internet rumour that came from a misleading video.

ICYMI, Twitter spiralled out of control for about 12 hours watching the cast of Don't Worry Darling interacting (or not) at the Venice Film Festival. Florence “Miss Flo” Pugh apparently left the screening a mere three minutes into the standing ovation, and Harry and Olivia didn't even sit together! But it was this moment that got everyone, pardon the puns, frothing at the mouth.

If true, this would have been…incredibly weird. Among the many rumours flying around, none of them involves Pine at all, and Styles does seem like a pretty jovial guy. Another video added important context to the moment: Pine was actually looking down to find his sunglasses:

…so he could take a nap.

Anyway, Pine's rep officially put the kibosh on the rumours the next day, telling People, “This is a ridiculous story—a complete fabrication and the result of an odd online illusion that is clearly deceiving and allows for foolish speculation. Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. There is nothing but respect between these two men, and any suggestion otherwise is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply does not exist.”

So there you have it. Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine. He did swap spit with Nick Kroll, though.

And he had this to say about the movie: It is a movie.

The gworls, meanwhile, are definitely in a bit of a tiff. Here's a timeline of all the drama, which now includes both Wilde's and Pugh's stylists, but still doesn't include Gemma Chan. Good for you, Gemma Chan!
