I look forward to autumn every year. It’s my favourite season, anyway, for the changing colours of the trees and the fact that I get to wear knitwear and coats again, but mainly because it signals the release of the Harrods advent calendar - and this year, we have the exclusive. While it may seem too soon for some, with a couple of months still to go until Christmas commences, it’s never too early to treat yourself. Come December, you’ll be grateful you indulged (trust me, it will sell out).
Good news for your mantlepiece, too: the 2021 design features an undeniably chic deep-blue, leafy exterior that you’ll want to display with pride. It’s what’s inside that’s got me excited, though. The iconic Harrods Beauty Halls is home to the world’s most adored fragrance, makeup and skincare labels so, when I heard that there are 25 doors of luxe products from said brands to open this year, my heart did a little dance. It drops in store and online on the 14th October, so set all your reminders and alarm clocks.
Advent Calendar, £250, Harrods

Of course, the Harrods advent calendar has always been highly sought after but last year saw a rise in interest on social media. Need convincing? December 2020 saw the likes of Melissa Holdbrook-Akposoe (of @melissaswardrobe) rave on about the calendar as her favourite among the several she had been sent. Mel’s not one to shy away from showing her disapproval, so when she says she likes something you go out and buy it immediately. #Melmademedoit.
If that wasn’t enough reason to snap up the Harrods advent calendar 2021 ASAP, this might be: the items inside this year’s fairytale book-like iteration are worth a total of £1,166! That’s how you know there are some seriously boujee full and deluxe-sized products inside. The best news, though? It’s retailing for £250, saving you a mammoth £916 on some of the most coveted brands around.

Mia Collins, Head of Beauty at Harrods, says: “This year’s Harrods advent calendar is, in my opinion, our most exciting and desirable yet. It celebrates some of the most magnificent beauty products that can be found in Harrods beauty halls, H beauty stores and Harrods Hair and Beauty Salon. I find myself reaching for these products during the festive season to bring life back into my skin after so many festive celebrations.” You heard it here first, folks. If you’re prone to a Christmas party or two, trust in this opulent calendar to see your skin through them all.
