Gangs of London season 3 is arriving on our screens imminently, with the new season of the show set to air on Sky.

After swiftly working our way through the first two seasons of the show after they landed on Netflix back in September, we've been desperate to get answers following those major plot twists for Sean and Elliot which we saw unfold in the second season finale.

The good news though? There's not long to wait now, and in the meantime we have an intense trailer which we can indulge in.

So exactly when will we be getting a Gangs of London season 3? Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming series.

When is the Gangs of London season 3 release date?

Though Gangs of London may have only arrived on Netflix in September 2024, though its first season aired on Sky Atlantic back in 2020, with its second season landing in October 2022.

Given that we're now in March 2025, clearly Sky has been taking its time on Gangs of London season 3. That said, there's not long to wait as Gangs of London season 3 is out on 20 March 2025 at 9pm.

As per Variety, the new series began filming with Kim Hong-sun (The Age of Blood) directing and executive producing, and Peter McKenna (Kin) acting as lead writer and executive producer for the show.

Better still, the production team shared a BTS sneak peek at the show's first table read in April 2024, so things are definitely in the works.

Though we're yet to get confirmation on a Gangs of London season 3 release date, it took two years for the second season to arrive on our screens, so if the third instalment were to follow suit then we're due season 3 soon.

Fingers crossed!

Gangs of London season 3 cast

Speaking on the Gangs of London season 3 cast, Director of Original Series for Sky Studios, Meghan Lyvers, said "Gangs of London remains a highly valued and critically acclaimed Sky original franchise, and we are pleased it continues to attract such incredible actor talent in addition to our fantastic established cast."

So exactly who will return for a third season of the hit show?

Given Sean Wallace (Joe Cole) has only just returned to the fold, viewers can expect to see much more of him in Gangs of London season 3. But it wouldn't be Gangs of London without Elliot too, so likewise we can expect to see Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù reprising his role.

In addition, the following cast have been confirmed:

  • Lucian Msamati as Ed Dumani.
  • Pippa Bennett-Warner as Shannon Dumani
  • Michelle Fairley as Marian Wallace
  • Brian Vernel as Billy Wallace
  • Narges Rashidi as Lale
  • Asif Raza Mir as Asif Afridi
  • Orli Shuka as Luan Dushaj
  • Eri Shuka as Mirlinda Dushaj
  • Jahz Armando as Saba
  • Fady Elsayed as Faz

The Gangs of London season 3 cast will also see some new faces joining the cast, with the following actors having been confirmed for the third series:

  • Andrew Koji (Warrior) is set to take on the role of a mysterious unnamed assassin
  • Meanwhile, Richard Dormer of Game of Thrones will play Cornelius Quinn, an old rival of Marian and Ed's
  • Sex Education's T’Nia Miller will portray the new Mayor of London
  • Phil Daniels (EastEnders) and Ruth Sheen (Brassic) will play a married couple “entrenched in old-school London gangster values”

Sadly, given the events of Gangs of London season 2, we won't be seeing any more of Floriana (Arta Dobroshi), Koba (Waleed Zuaiter) or Alex Duman (Paapa Essiedu).

Gangs of London season 3 plot

The Gangs of London season 2 finale had no shortage of twists and turns that we need answers to, with the death of Elliot's father seeing him setting out to enact his revenge on all parties involved.

Ultimately, this leads to Koba's death and that intense attack on Billy Wallace, with it being revealed that Sean had in fact ordered the hit on Elliot's father.

As Sean ends up in prison for Koba's murder, we see Elliot quickly becoming the head honcho of London's underworld, with Dumanis helping him along.

With things up in the air following Sean's attack, we expect to see Gangs of London season 3 exploring how this new setup looks like with Elliot in charge.

The little information that we have been given about Gangs of London's third season by Sky explains “Ex-undercover cop turned gangster Elliot is now operating as a top-level criminal alongside the Dumanis, but their business is thrown into chaos when their shipment of cocaine is spiked, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians all over London.”

They add, “The ensuing chaos attracts attention from the authorities, putting the gangs of London under pressure like never before and the ripple effects - both personal and professional - will have devastating consequences for everyone from the Wallaces, to Luan, to Lale and the street gangs. This was a targeted attack and it’s only the beginning, but the question is - who did it and why?”

Gangs of London season 3 can't come soon enough.
