The UEFA Women's EUROs 2025 started this week. That means weekends in pub gardens sipping Aperol Spritz and singing “call me a lioness, we're bringing it home again!” at the telly. The big news this week has been the build up to France v England game tomorrow (5th July), but that's not really the most exciting talk in the group chat is it? No, I want to know what we're all wearing. Anyone else made an outfit Pinterest board?
Whether you've booked your beer garden spot or you're heading to a screening at Boxpark or Clapham Grand, I reckon it's always worth putting a cute ‘fit on for. And it’s not just the football we're outfit planning for this summer, we'll also have Wimbledon and F1 to watch. Luckily athleisure has become mainstream for the street style set. Celebs and our favourite influencers are showing us sports attire can actually be really cool. I know you're thinking about that itchy PE kit polo top, but just stick with me I promise this is a trend everyone can get on board with.
Maybe it's the fact that Crystal Palace became the first premier league football club to hire a Creative Director, but football is in fashion. We've seen designer brands like Wales Bonner and Off-White put jerseys on the runway, and adidas has been the brand we've all been browsing this year, and not just for Sambas or Gazelles, their stripe jersey is an easy way to try the sports top style and they've just announced an adidas x ASOS collaboration. Fashion editors and content creators have been seen at fashion week in something akin to football strips, matched with Spezials, of course.
With the Euros coming in hot, it's not just the classic jerseys to consider for your Euro-watching outfit roster; high-street retailers and small businesses are serving us looks in the form of slogan tees. I love this Amazon baby tee in block white with the England flag printed on it.
Whatever top you go for as your base, be it the football shirt or a fun t-shirt, they're all super easy to style. If you're a minimalist denim is the easiest way to go, but if you're keen to go sportier try these 3-stripe sprinter shorts, some white socks and your favourite fashion trainers. I'll probably be opting for a white mini skort and my windbreaker, simple but chic. I just hope I don't get a beer knocked over me when England score.
