Big spoilers for Emily in Paris season 5 ahead, so proceed at your own peril.
Season 5 has officially landed, and naturally, we’re already buzzing about whether Emily in Paris will be back for Season 6. Good news: the update you've been waiting for is here!
This time, Emily ditched Paris for 10 episodes of Roman escapades, seemingly putting her will-they-won’t-they-WHY romance with Gabriel on pause.
But let’s be real: we need more of our brash, fearless American girlie. Emily in Paris can’t possibly end outside of Paris, right? And what about Gabriel? Greece? Mindy’s potential wedding? We need answers, we need drama, we need Emily in Paris season 6.
Meet the cast of Emily in Paris season 5.

Has Emily in Paris been renewed for season 6?
Good news, besties — Netflix has officially greenlit Emily in Paris season 6.
The streamer made the announcement with a playful little teaser video that showed Emily blowing out a “6” candle on a croissant in front of the Eiffel Tower (all from inside an iPhone! Magique!). Could this mean that Emily and her friends are heading back to the French capital, where it all began, next year?
Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos previously seemed to tease that Emily’s adventures aren’t over yet when he included Emily in Paris in his list of returning series for 2026.
The perfect thing to cook while you wait for season three.

When could Emily in Paris season 6 be released?
We can’t make any promises just yet.
That said, season 5 premiered just 15 months after it was announced. If season 6 gets the green light soon after season 5’s release, fans could be strutting back into Emily’s Parisian world as soon as early 2027.
Which characters would be in Emily in Paris season 6?
Well, unlike many other shows, nearly every character wrapped up season 5 in some sort of romantic entanglement. So if Emily in Paris gets the green light for season 6, we can expect most of the regulars to return. And of course, Emily has to be there — even if she’s no longer in Paris full-time, Lily Collins will be strutting back onto our screens.
Alongside Emily, look out for the series regulars: Lucas Bravo (Gabriel), Ashley Park (Mindy), Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu (Sylvie), Samuel Arnold (Julian), Bruno Gouery (Luc), Paul Forman (Nicolas), and Lucien Laviscount (Alfie). And it seems like newcomer Minnie Driver (Princess Jasmine) isn’t done yet, thanks to her continued involvement with Agence Grateau.
That said, by the end of season 5, Emily returns to Paris single, which doesn’t exactly leave room for Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini). So whether he’ll be back? That’s still up in the air.
What would happen in Emily in Paris season 6?
The season 5 finale left so many questions unanswered — and a ton of drama brewing for season 6 of Emily in Paris.
In “Veni, Vidi, Venezia,” Emily ended things with Marcello after he revealed he’d have to stay in Italy to take over his family’s company. She returned to Agence Grateau solo, and of course, Sylvie — always the icon — immediately texted Gabriel:
"Just thought you should know. Emily is back in Paris. She and Marcello are no longer together. Do with this information what you wish."
And just when we thought the drama was over… Gabriel sends Emily a postcard inviting her to Greece:
"Emily. As promised… A postcard with a stamp. I’m at sea without you. Meet me in Greece. Yours, Gabriel."
Will Emily go? Honestly, we don’t doubt it — can you even imagine the fashion choices on a Greek island?
But it isn’t just Emily and Gabriel we’re watching, as her bestie Mindy is also navigating some complicated romantic waters. By the end of season 5, Mindy is engaged to Nico… but not even a diamond ring can erase lingering feelings for Alfie. Looks like season 6 might kick off with a classic love triangle.
Creator Darren Star teased as much in an interview with Decider:
"Nicolas was always in Mindy’s mind as this fantasy, who really hurt her, and came back and offered her surprisingly everything. And I think she was really quick to cast Alfie aside as a little bit of a fling when Nico came back in the picture… I think it’s going to complicate the situation. If and when we hear about a Season 6, their storyline would be a little messy."
Star also hinted at the possibility of Greece for season 6 of Emily in Paris:
"There’s a couple paths things could take. First, we have to get a season 6, and that’s when we’re going to have the discussions."
And yes, sending Emily and the crew to America has also been floated as an idea.
Will we see a Greek Mamma Mia! wedding with Emily as the Maid of Honour? Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, the work drama continues: Agence Grateau is now under new leadership. After almost losing the company to bankruptcy, Sylvie is forced to accept an investment from Princess Jasmine, who will now act as co-head of the agency. Expect sparks to fly and power struggles to heat up.
