If we could swap closets with one celebrity, it would definitely be Blake Lively. And we're not alone: Mindy, played by Ashley Park on Netflix's Emily In Paris, seems to have taken a style cue or two from Blake, making one of the actor's brightest frocks work for her.
In season two, episode three, Mindy shows up to Emily's birthday in a highlighter yellow gown accented with gold hoops and bangles. It's fun, young, and perfectly reflects the character's sunny personality.
It's also evidence that Mindy may also be a Blake Lively stan. As People noted, the Gossip Girl star wore the same Oscar de la Renta gown to the American Ballet Theater Spring Gala in 2017. She completed her ensemble with turquoise earrings and colourful jewellery, though both women opted to put their hair up in ponytails, showing off their clavicles.
Okay, we know “Mindy” didn't actually pick out this outfit, being a fictional character and all. She, like the rest of the characters, was dressed by Emily In Paris' costume designers, Marylin Fitoussi and Patricia Field. But we still think the ensemble says something about Mindy.
Season 2 lands on Netflix at the end of the month.
After all, in season one, Emily (Lily Collins) said she wanted to be just like Serena van der Woodsen growing up, so we know at least she has seen the CW series! And if Gossip Girl exists in the EIP universe, then so does Blake…and so did this red carpet moment.
But Mindy isn't the only one of Emily's friends walking around in celebrity red carpet looks. In the first episode of the new season, Camille (Camille Razat) wears a black YSL dress that was also spotted on Olivia Rodrigo in September. Here it is on Camille:
