Celebrity Traitors UK is coming, and we absolutely cannot wait. Our fave reality TV series is returning this month with a new celebrity spin as host Claudia Winkleman puts a group of celebs through their paces at the famous gothic castle. Both UK and US iterations of The Traitors have hit it out of the park this year with the blindsides and the alliances. And what better set-up (and entertainment source) than a group of celebrities playing the game, trying to work out who is faithful and who is, in fact, a traitor?

The line-up has officially been confirmed with the BBC's first teaser trailer — the likes of Paloma Faith, Charlotte Church, Stephen Fry and Alan Carr are set to cross paths in the Scottish castle. Call us beyond excited. And we don't have long to wait. Though we don't have an exact release date yet, we know the series is returning this autumn.

Here's what we know so far about when Celebrity Traitors UK 2025 begins.

When does Celebrity Traitors UK start?

Celebrity Traitors UK will premiere at 9pm on Wednesday, 8 October, on both BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

“We’re incredibly lucky these brilliant people have said yes,” Claudia Winkleman has said. "I’d love to say we’ll take it easy on them and they’ll just wander round the castle and eat toast for a couple of weeks, but that would be a lie."

Charlotte Church and Kate Garraway have also opened up about the friendship they forged on the show, with Kate saying on Good Morning Britain that Charlotte was “a massive part” of her experience. Do we think they were allies?

Charlotte added during an interview on the breakfast news show that her Traitors experience was “intense and fun”. When asked if she forgot the cameras were there, she responded: "It's become immediately so iconic you can't really forget you're being filmed."

Actor and comedian Nick Mohammed, who also appears on this year's Celebrity Traitors, spoke on The Comedian’s Comedian Podcast about contestants getting seriously annoyed about one specific rule – that they weren't allowed to know the time, in an attempt to separate them from the outside world and reality.

“When we were in the castle, you’d be like, “What’s the time?” And they’d say, “It’s Traitors time.” That was their response. Every single member of production had to answer with that until someone kicked off. And then someone said it is basically alright, and you can tell us the time.”

When asked what to expect from this year's season, he said: “I do think it’s going to be good telly. To see these celebrities together and interacting in this game will be really interesting.”

Reports have also said that Daisy May Cooper and her brother Charlie were set to go on Celebrity Traitors UK but dropped out after learning how long the filming commitments were. Damn.

We've also got confirmation that season 5 of The Traitors will be going ahead – with season 4 coming very soon – and applications are now open for all who wish to enter the much-hyped on-screen competition.

Celebrity Traitors UK prize

In the regular Joe version of the Traitors, contestants battle it out for a cash prize of £100,000, which, for most people, is nothing short of life changing. For the celebrities, however, it's a slightly different story.

Instead, the £100,000 prize money goes towards charity of the winner's choice.

But it's not as though the celebs get nothing. In fact, the celebrity participants are reportedly paid a flat fee of £40,000 for their three weeks on the show.
