Heading into the new season, autumn lip combos are trending. Sure, Kylie Jenner, Megan Thee Stallion and Hailey Bieber, might have had a little something to do with our renewed obsession in pairing the perfect lipstick and lip liner, but this has '90s throwback written all over it – see: Naomi Campbell, Selena Quintanilla and Pamela Anderson.
On TikTok “fall lip” has over 1.5 million views, “fall lip colours” has 2.7 million and “fall lip combo” has 5.5 million. That's a whole lot of interest in nailing your lip colour.
We get it. The ideal lip liner and lipstick duet can be as iconic as a classic tee and blazer. There's endless ways to play it, but done well it can look truly phenomenal. And landing on that signature blend can take an outfit from average to next-level. Only, in this case, we're more interested in shade and finish, over shape and fit.

We love a theme, so leaning into the rich, vampy mood that autumn brings seems like the best way to settle into ‘fall’. We've seen spiced browns, dark reds, toasted nudes, and fresh glossy top coats all headline. Here's just some of our favourites…
Matchy-matchy spicy pink
Courtney Shields gave us not one, but five autumn lip combos to have in our back pocket. The first was a deep vampy brown-red combo of Charlotte Tilbury's Lip Cheat in Hollywood Honey and Revlon's Rum Raisin 008. The second was a matchy-matchy spicy pink lip using the Dibs No Pressure Lip Liner in shade 4 Pretty Spicy with with MAC's Satin Lipstick in Amorous. The third was a nudey-pink using the same Dibs pencil in shade 4 with Maybelline's Rosey Risk Color Sensational Lipstick. The fourth was Courtney's take on the brownie lip using Dibs No Pressure Lip Definer in Dark with a clear gloss applied on top, and the final look (a version of the brownie lip for fairer skin tones) combined the Dibs definer in shade 3 with a clear gloss.
