Anya Taylor-Joy had us all fooled, but her big April Fool's Day reveal wasn't actually a joke at all. The Dune: Part Two star revealed that she tied the knot with her husband Malcolm McRae on April Fool's Day 2022 in New Orleans, not in October 2023 as previously thought. And she did so in a very Anya Taylor-Joy gown, a dazzling custom Dior covered in hummingbirds and sparkles.

Taylor-Joy shared a handful of pics from her secret wedding on Instagram on her two-year anniversary, saying, “Two years ago, on April Fools, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans. The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever. Happy second (first) anniversary my love…you’re the coolest.”
The pics and videos shared by the couple, which you can see here and here, give us a pretty good view of the dress, a classic wedding dress with a twist. The straight-across bodice hangs from slim spaghetti straps, ending in a full but not cupcake-y ballgown skirt. The gown itself isn't white, but rather a dusty champagne beige, and colourful hummingbird embroidery decorates the bodice and skirt. Taylor-Joy wore a full-length tulle veil as she walked down the aisle. It's bridal, but not in the conventional sense, and it feels extremely true to Taylor-Joy's artsy, avant-garde personal style.
Though it appears the wedding was pretty small and private, there was one familiar face in the group: model and actor Cara Delevingne, who wore a cream suit and posed with Taylor-Joy underneath her enormous sheer veil. (The two are good friends, so it makes sense that Delevingne was by her side on her big day.)
The 27-year-old revealed she she stopped looking in mirrors due to online comments making fun of her appearance.

For the big day, the couple dined on anatomical heart cakes, which you can see below and which Taylor-Joy cheekily said made her “the vampire Lestat” from Interview with the Vampire. Though it's been two years since this magical, ethereal ceremony, it's clear that it remains very close to Anya Taylor-Joy's heart, and it couldn't be more beautiful.
