Paris Hilton: Look Book

Woah! Who ordered the Playboy bunny? Channelling Farrah Fawcett on a tacky day, Paris opts for big, BIG, hair, frosted pink lipstick and a lot more ‘front’ than usual. Not her finest hour.
Probably the most famous heiress on the planet, Paris knows a thing or two about what grabs headlines. Seemingly making a living from simply being 'Paris', the It-girl has only been on our radar since the start of the Noughties but she's certainly notched up a fair few column inches since then, most notably down to her ever-changing look and, ahem, 'experimental' style. Socialite, serial dater and perpetual 'booty shaker', we track the hair and beauty journey of brand Paris.

2000
A young, fresh-faced Paris – just 19 years-old pictured here at the launch of Lucky magazine – already had a penchant for extensions, but since this was obviously taken in 2000BG (Before GHDs), it’s easy to see where her hair ends and the weave begins. Not a good look!
March 2001
Paris attempts ‘edgy’ with strong, blocked black on her eyes, a smattering of body glitter and a ‘rock’ necklace – but with her megawatt smile and sunkissed glow, she’s just too blonde and sunshiny to pull it off! Go back to girly, Paris, pronto.
November 2001
Trying out ‘pale and interesting’, Paris ditches the bronzer and flaunts an enviably flawless complexion with smoky eyes and a new ‘do – the choppy bob with an on-trend (at the time) zig-zag parting is very flattering on the socialite’s delicate features...
June 2003
…But alas, sadly, it was not to last. Now enjoying The Simple Life with best girlfriend Nicole Richie, Paris goes ga-ga for Barbie Girl beauty. Cue (too much) bronzer and fake tan, and a new head of ‘beachy’ hair extensions.

July 2003
With that classic Californian tan, baby blues (hmmm – enhanced with contacts, no less) and lengthy blonde extensions ironed to within an inch of their life, this look is Vintage Hilton – a style sister Nicky was even sporting at the time.
December 2003
As The Simple Life airs for the first time, Paris is catapulted into reality TV stardom and adopts a more mature, demure look - perhaps in response to the video release of her ‘film debut’ just a week before (the, er, aptly named One Night In Paris) – still, you can’t buy that kind of publicity! The up-do is a little too bridal, but she scores style points for the gorgeous satin head band and subtly shimmering makeup.
August 2004
Woah! Who ordered the Playboy bunny? Channelling Farrah Fawcett on a tacky day, Paris opts for big, BIG, hair, frosted pink lipstick and a lot more ‘front’ than usual. Not her finest hour.
October 2004
The make-up is great, the tan perfect, and the quiff adds a little interest, but those ‘tousled’ lengths are just plain wrong. Rock chic, bed-hair works well on the likes of Kate Moss, but on polished Paris, it’s hardly a ‘do du jour.

April 2005
Is that Paris?! The heiress tries out a brunette wig for fun at the Young Hot Hollywood Style Awards 2005. We actually think the colour works well – it’s a shame Paris never tried this look for real – but a bad rug and a red carpet do not a match make.
1st May 2005
It’s back to blonde for Paris as she attends the New York screening of House Of Wax, a ‘tween’ slasher re-make that earned her a Teen Choice Award for Best Scream! For her stint in the spotlight, Paris comes over all elegant – with a clever bow up-do and classic make-up.
2nd May 2005
During a whistle-stop trip to Blighty where she attended the House Of Wax screening at London’s Madame Tussauds (see what they did there?), Paris goes low-key, with natural-esque locks and almost-ethereal make-up.
August 2005
Diamonds are a girl’s best friend after all, but a look more befitting her years would have been better for this MTV event in Miami, where getting noticed is everything and the ‘hot 30 under 30’ reign supreme. With a dreary up-do (badly in need of a little frizz-control) and classic yet bland make-up, Paris’ 2005 Video Music Awards look was in dire need of a ‘fun’ injection - more Helen Mirren at the BAFTAs than West Coast It-Girl in Miami.

September 2005
Wow – what a difference a cut makes. For her winning moment at the 2005 Teen Choice Awards (she won Best Scream, remember) Paris went for maximum impact with a hot new ‘do. After YEARS of lengthy, platinum extensions, Miss Hilton opted for a chin-skimming bob with a sweeping fringe which looked, dare we say it, rather chic.
August 2006
Now a popstar – she released her self-titled debut album this month under self-founded record label, Heiress Records – Paris adds a little ‘rock’ interest to her usual look at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards, trying out oh-so-now, Edie Sedgwick eyes and a rockabilly quiff. Not our favourite look of the heiress’, but it’s nice to see she’s been trend-watching.
December 2006
The extensions are back, but with her new peek-a-boo fringe and flirty, über-lashed look, we rather like them!
2007
After several (count ‘em) drink-driving violations, Paris was sentenced to 45 days in jail and left the 2003 MTV Movie Awards early to check herself into the Century Regional Detention Facility in California (oh, the life of an LA Socialite!). After a 23-day stint behind bars, a new Paris emerged – she announced she’d ‘changed forever’, and pledged to do more for humanity. We don’t know much about that, but we do know we love, love, loved Paris’ new look. With her sleek bob, black-etched eyes and pillar-box red lippy, could this be Paris’ best look ever?

November 2008
Of course, ‘new Paris’ wasn’t around for long, and the fairytale-style extensions made a full-bodied comeback at the launch of her latest fragrance, Fairy Dust, at Macy’s, NYC.
December 2008
It’s out with the new, in the old shimmering, pink make-up formula of yesteryear for the Dolce & Gabbana flagship boutique opening in Beverly Hills.
January 2009
Out and about in LA, Paris flaunts her new bob (again! Yo-yo hairdressing, anyone?). Whilst we commend her for ditching the extensions once more, this look is just a little too ageing for a girl of 28.
Today
Hey, that’s more like it! Channeling full-on, old-school Hollywood glamour at the recent Evening with Women: Celebrating Art, Music & Equality charity event in LA – Paris gives the photographers plenty of va-va-voom to pap about, with silver screen goddess curls, lashings of lashes and liner, and a ruby red pout. A winning look.
