Ukrainian fashion brand, Sleeper, is donating proceeds from all online sales to support children affected by the war
It is the label adored by editors and influencers alike, but right now Ukrainian fashion brand Sleeper has a far more important cause than simply satisfying the sartorial desires of its shopper.
Since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine an estimated 4.3 million children have been displaced - more than half of the country's estimated 7.5 million child population. With the majority of the brand's current employees being not only women but also young mothers, the Kyiv-based brand decided to set up a proactive, charitable initiative focussed on helping children in their home country.
“We at Sleeper, as women and mothers, believe that every child deserves a safe, healthy, and happy childhood,” explained the brand. “That's why this April we are launching a charitable action to support children affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine.”
Informative and reliable resources.

Sleeper is donating proceeds from all of its April website sales to Ukraine's largest children’s hospital, Ohmatdyt, which provides urgent and highly specialised medical assistance for its country's youngest and most vulnerable people.
“The opportunity to be helpful to others forms a big value, adding meaningfulness to our life,” said the brand’s co-founder Kate Zubareva. “We are glad to be useful to the main children’s hospital of Kyiv, a place where our doctors carry out the most complicated operations, make the miracle real and demonstrate a true master-class.”
“This maternity hospital had sponsors and donors who’d worked tirelessly to support it for years. In one moment all of this was gone.”

The Ukrainian nightwear label was founded five years ago by two former fashion magazine editors, Kate Zubarieva and Aysa Varetsa, whose main aim was to create nightwear that wasn't solely reserved for between the sheets. Essentially, a pyjama label that crossed over into the outside world.
And cross over it did, with the brand finding itself being worn by some of the world's chicest celebrities and influencers for every occasion, from actresses Dakota Fanning and Vanessa Hudgens to influencers Arielle Charnas and Eva Chen. Even Sex and the City's very own Charlotte York-Goldenblatt was in on the action, wearing the Party Pj Set in pink in one of the show's latest And Just Like That scenes.
Undoubtedly one of the brand's most popular looks, all sales of the Party Pyjama - along with the super versatile Sizeless Pyjamas, the iconic Atlanta linen dress, the Rumba lounge suit and the exquisite (and personal favourite) Opera linen dress (essentially, everything on the brand's website) - throughout the month will see proceeds donated and contribute to the vital cause.
