The 2021 SAG Awards were all about ripping up the red carpet rulebook – these are the fashion moments you need to see
Thanks to the pandemic, awards season 2021 is looking very different to normal – and this is particularly true of this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The SAG Awards 2021 took place in a pre-recorded one hour ceremony – which is notably short for an award ceremony – without a celebrity host. But despite not being the usual glitzy, star-studded affair, celebrities still managed to serve some serious fashion looks from home. In fact, we think this year's SAG Awards are going to go down in 'red carpet' history.
Take The Crown star Emma Corrin – who previously picked up the Best Actress in a Drama Series gong at both the Critics Choice Awards and the Golden Globes – looking like something out of our '90s grunge-style dreams in a Prada gown. Not only did the 25-year-old actress ditch conventional red carpet heels for biker boots, but she basically made the curtain fringe cool again.
Celebrities weren't afraid to make a political statement with their choice of outfits either. One of the first looks of the night came from Jamie Chung, wearing a red Oscar de la Renta dress and clutch bag emblazoned with the words 'Stop Asian Hate', acknowledging the recent wave of anti-Asian hate crimes around the world.
So, from Daniel Kaluuya living his best loungewear life, to the Bridgerton cast in ruffled princess gowns (very apt), here are the best dressed stars of the 2021 SAG Awards...
