Despite most of the action being virtual, we've had quite the award season so far and the Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, aka SAGs, has been no different, celebrating the best in film and TV over the past year, with British stars leading the way again.
The 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards was aired on 4 April, after being pre-taped a few days prior due to the pandemic. However, that didn't mean it wasn't a night to remember for all the winners.
The Crown , which was in the lead with five SAG nominations, more than any other series, won two awards. Olivia Colman, Emma Corrin and Gillian Anderson went head-to-head for the Female Actor in a Drama Series award, which was snapped up by Anderson, while their co-star Josh O'Connor was nominated alongside Bridgerton's Rege-Jean Page for the Male Actor in a Drama Series award.
I May Destroy You’s Michaela Coel was recognised in the Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series gong after missing out in the Golden Globe nomination, but it was Anya Taylor-Joy who took home the gong for her role in The Queen's Gambit.
