I'm a beauty editor – these are the new summer beauty products I'd spend my money on

The recent heatwave has put my beauty routine through its paces, but it's also been the perfect opportunity to see which new summer beauty products made the grade in terms of staying power, intuiting what my skin really needs and delivering that golden hour afterglow. After all, we all know there's a fine line between a dew-saturated sheen that catches the light just so and looking sweaty when the Mercury rises.
Ahead you'll find an array of sunscreens and bronzers with different textures and finishes because, yes, I do believe you need a wardrobe of both to suit the occasion, the destination or your mood. Plus, some excellent products to pack for your summer holiday. Enjoy.
The best new summer beauty products.
Victoria Beckham Beauty Colour Wash Bronze Water Tint in Tan Line
Last year, Victoria Beckham launched the Colour Wash Blush, a product that's the beauty equivalent of pink tinted fruit water. This is the bronzer version, which creates the type of sheer, watercolour finish that still lets freckles have their day. It's perfect for no-makeup makeup days.
Tom Ford Soleil Bronzing Powder
'90s matte bronzer is back, its appeal lying in the baked, sculpted effect it creates. So if you prefer a powder bronzer then look no further than this finely-spun version from Tom Ford, which can be used to warm the complexion or sculpt sun-kissed cheekbones.
Hermes Hermessence Collection Musc Pallida, 100ml EDP
I've lost count of the number of times I've been complimented on this musky floral scent. Iris muddles with rose, violet and a soft-textured white musk for a fragrance that's just the right side of powdery. Musc Pallida nuzzles close to the skin but it also projects just enough fragrance that someone's face doesn't need to graze your collar in order to smell it.
Prada Touch Blush
Cream blush can often pull a vanishing act in hot weather but the beauty of the new Prada Blush is that it dries down to a very lightweight powder. The shade range is exceptional, the pigment can be built up or applied as a sheer wash and you can even hold the triangle-shaped packaging against your cheek to see exactly where your most flattering blush placement would be.
Medik8 Exo-PDRN Prismatic+
I was introduced to Medik8's Exo-PDRN Prismatic+ serum back in December 2025 when an unmarked sample landed on my desk. Now it's coaxing out my best summer skin thanks to 3D prism-shaped PDRN molecules that absorb deeper and nudge your skin to produce cells responsible for elastin, collagen and an otherworldly glow.
MyBlend My Lifting Roller
I've been travelling a lot recently and I've packed this facial roller every time. A flick of the button kickstarts a three-pronged attack on tired, slack skin with massage, microcurrent and different vibration levels. I also use it in the morning with the power off to give my facial muscles a workout and I've noticed a visible lift.
Larry King Ride or Die Texture Spray
Whisper it, but I've never been a fan of texturising sprays because the residue either skews sticky or dusty. Then I tried Ride Or Die. Celebrity hair stylist Larry King has managed to do the unthinkable and create a texturising spray for people who like volume but who also want to be able to run their fingers through their hair. Oh, and the scent rivals some of the best musky perfumes I've tried.
Medicube Mini Booster Pro Plus Full Facial Device Set
This set, which includes an interchangeable face roller and cleaning head, is excellent value for money. The V-shaped roller hugs the contours of your face and I love how you can choose different light modes for a personalised facial: red for plumping, blue for dialling down puffiness and purple for relaxation. Meanwhile, the cleansing head swiftly removes buried sunscreen from deep inside pores.
Dior Backstage Airflash Mist
Hot temperatures often call for two things: a setting spray to lock makeup in place and a hydrating mist for comfort. This airy product is the lovechild of both, shielding makeup from humidity while tending to skin with a refreshing burst of hyaluronic acid.
No7 Prime Forever SPF50 Primer
You can always rely on No7 to create a product underpinned by solid science. In this case, it's an SPF50 primer, which not only boasts 5-Star UVA Rated Protection (the highest rating for a sunscreen) but is also powered by the brand's most powerful antioxidant complex to protect against damaging free radicals. Then there's a world-first peptide technology that helps to preserve the skin-plumping collagen in your skin and the fact that it even continues working 24 hours after you slathered it on. If that's not enough to convince you, then perhaps the fact that it plays brilliantly under makeup will.
Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-eyes Easy Eyeshadow Stick
Eyeshadow used to feel like something your mum wore. After all, who has time for multiple shades and swipes to create a smoky eye? But everything about this eye crayon feels modern - from the creamy texture that won't settle in the crease of your lid to the simple ‘squiggle-it-on-and-smudge' application.
CeraVe Invisible Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 50 for Body & Face
An SPF for the body shouldn't cost the earth, but it does need to be hardworking. CeraVe has hit that sweetspot with a formula that sinks in fast, won't leave a white cast and nourishes with three essential ceramides so you get silky smooth limbs thrown into the bargain, too.
Hourglass Unreal Liquid Highlighter
This liquid highlighter has versatility in spades. It glides onto cheekbones and the bridge of the nose to create a glass-like sheen (read: no glitter). But the precision dropper also allows you to build your desired glow by blending a few drops into your foundation.
Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Oil
I've already earmarked this multi-tasking oil as my go-to aftersun product this summer. Rich in camellia extract, hyaluronic acid and ectoin, prepare for glossy, intensely hydrated hair and skin that not only smells like a tropical island but is also flooded with hydration to mitigate the damage that sun, sea and sand inevitably wreaks.
Ilia Sun Serum Mineral Sunscreen SPF50
I tend to switch out my foundation for a tinted moisturiser in summer. But this year, it's all about tinted sunscreens, which are like the Swiss Army knife of skincare. Ilia's Sun Serum tops my wish list as it has taken the heavenly benefits of its Skin Tint and formulated them into a sunscreen you'll actually look forward to wearing every day. Think a sheer veil of colour that creates a ‘your-skin-but-better’ finish, solid broad spectrum UV protection, plus hyaluronic acid for juicy hydration.
La Roche-Posay Anthelios UVAIR Serum Sunscreen SPF50
‘Invisible’ is often a desirable marketing term for a new sunscreen. But not in La Roche-Posay's case. Its first UVAir sunscreen was so beloved by Glamour's beauty editors for its traceless, non-greasy finish that it won a Global Award. But it's new serum technology goes one step further and is like catnip for anyone who wants lightweight hydration, solid UV protection but who also wants to feel like they have nothing on their skin at all.
Sunday Riley Tidal Deep Hydration and Plumping Serum
It's no surprise that skin sends out a flair during summer when it's contending with baltic air conditioning indoors and humidity outdoors. Enter Sunday Riley’s Tidal Deep Hydration & Plumping Serum, which immediately soothes and feels like a long, tall drink for thirsty skin. It's packed with no fewer than five different types of hydrating hyaluronic acid, while the polyglutamic acid in the formula creates a deeply pleasing, cushiony finish.
Dyson Supersonic Travel Hair Dryer
If hotel hair dryers are your nemesis, I'd definitely recommend investing in the new Supersonic Travel hair dryer for a smoother, kinder styling experience.
Sometimes when tech is shrunk down for convenience, you can end up with a subpar product. Not so with this hair dryer, which may be 32% smaller but still comes with everything you'd expect from a Dyson hair tool: Intelligent heat control measuring the temperature up to 100 times per second to protect against frazzled ends; plus three heat settings and two speed settings, giving you maximum control of the finish.
But the real draw is the weight - it's 25% lighter than a regular Dyson hair dryer so it won't weigh down your hand luggage and the voltage adapts to wherever you are in the world. Pretty clever, no?
Shark ChillPill 3-in-1 Fan, Mist & InstaChill System
Meet you new heatwave obsession! Not only does this hand-held Shark device look cool but it immediately chills your skin whether you opt for the high-speed fan; the cooling head, which feels like a sweaty can of ice cold Coke on your forehead or the ultra-fine mist of icy water.
