All the celebrity couples who won the Met Gala 2024
Look, if you're going to hard-launch your new significant other, there's no better place for it than the Met Gala (provided you can nab an invite).
And if you can't trust the relationship advice from a GLAMOUR editor who is currently covering the 2024 Met Gala from a makeshift den in her living room, why not take it from the experts themselves?
We all remember where we were when Rihanna and A$AP Rocky arrived – over an hour late, we might add – to the Met Gala back in 2023. Then there's the small matter of Hollywood power couple Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who were quintessential American sweethearts for the exhibition in 2022. And err, who could forget J.Lo and Ben Affleck's infamous masked kiss back in 2021? Certainly not me.
As soon as the red carpet opened for this year's Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, all eyes were on the celebrity couples. First up, Chris Hemsworth, one of the event's co-chairs, was joined by his wife, Elsa Pataky, in coordinated Tom Ford looks. The Thor actor wore a cream three-piece suit, while Elsa practically shimmered in a gold turtleneck dress.
Peter Hawkings, Tom Ford's creative director, described the look for Vogue, noting, “They both embody the ethos I am creating at Tom Ford of sensuality, confidence, and cool and wear their looks with ease and allure.”
We were then treated to appearances from Rita Ora and Taika Waititi, both wearing Marni (and both looking sensational); Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade; and Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes.
Of course, there's the small matter of the dress code. The theme of the 2024 exhibition is Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, with all guests expected to reference “the garden of time.” What do you reckon? Did this year's celebrity couples nail it, or what?
