M&S' summer collection just dropped and it's so perfect for a post-lockdown wardrobe refresh

We’re not sure about you, but for us it feels like this winter has dragged on (and on and on). Perhaps it was the whole being plunged into a third lockdown in the depths of the cold months-thing, but we are more than ready for a summer full of heatwaves.

As soon as lockdown starts to ease, you’ll find us having picnics with our friends in the park, day tripping to the seaside when the weather warms and going wild swimming wherever possible.

Luckily, M&S is on our wavelength and our high street fave has just dropped its summer lookbook for 2021 - and we want every. single. thing.

This year, its summer collection has been inspired by brighter days ahead - think vibrant and stylish basics with new shapes, styles and prints. It’s everything you need for a summer fashion reset, really.

Floaty, feminine dresses remain a stalwart item in the M&S repertoire, while Grecian flats are the big footwear trend of the summer and denim reigns supreme, with slouchier jeans mimicking Gen Z’s aversion to skinnier, figure-hugging styles.

This year, the M&S summer palette is all soft pinks, khakis and warm neutrals with the odd pop of colour here and there. There’s a healthy dose of linen too, for more refined and cooling summer looks.
