This is what Kate Middleton's beauty look was like before she joined the royal family and we can't believe our eyes

Those bouncy curls! That glossy hair! That juicy skin! The Duchess of Cambridge really can do no wrong in the beauty stakes.
Ever since joining 'The Firm', Kate has put the classic blow-dry back on the map, given us some major eyebrow shape inspo and proven that the pared back, classic beauty look is most certainly du jour.

Over the past 12 months, in what we deem to be her best year yet as a senior member of the royal family, Kate has even experimented with her beauty look. Obviously you'll never catch the royal donning bleach blonde hair or fluro mascara but Kate has trialled a few new hair colours like 3d brunette, as well new hairstyles like curved layers. And much like with her wardrobe choices, any beauty trend Kate trials quickly takes off.
Last year, Kate showcased her 'soft focus skin' on Zoom calls. Rather than applying heavy contour, lashings of mascara and heavy-duty foundation, Kate prefers a 'soft focus' finish - the happy medium between matte and glowy skin that works in all lights (and under the gauntlet of the press' cameras), yet still looks natural. Cue the nation following her lead.
She's even tried a new hairstyle this year during lockdown, as proven when The Duchess of Cambridge spoke to several nurses from the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust on Zoom.
Check out a clip of the chat, below. Of course, what Kate is talking about is the most important thing here, but it's possible to appreciate two things at once. And I must confess: I love the long, sleek hair.

As with most royal hair changes, we likely won't get any details from Kate Middleton's stylist. Maybe the long length is the result of lockdown restrictions on hair salons. We're into it.
While Kate may have finessed her beauty look in more recent years, before joining 'The Firm', Kate championed a rather different beauty look: think chocolate brunette hair, choppy layers and even a fringe at one point during her University days. As for her makeup, Kate was rather heavy-handed with the eyeliner and blusher.
Fancy some nostalgia to occupy yourself during our third national lockdown? Here, we chart Kate's best beauty looks from the present day, right back to when she was a fresh-faced student at St. Andrews.
