Is this H&M's prettiest designer collaboration yet? Here's what to shop in the H&M x Sabyasachi collection dropping this week
If you thought you'd been treated to your fill of much-adored H&M designer collaborations this year - with the sell-out H&M x Simona Rocha drop in March, the brilliant Brock Collection collab in June and our alarms already set for the H&M x Toga Archives launch on September 2nd - no one could blame you. But we've got some great...
Launching its debut Indian designer collaboration, the high street stalwart is teaming up with iconic Indian label, Sabyasachi, for a particularly epic collection which launches in just a few days.
Having had to push back the launch date a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this drop has arrived at the perfect time and is set to satisfy every one of our cravings for sartorial escapism right now.
Here's everything we know so far about the H&M x Sabyasachi collaboration.
What does the H&M x Sabyasachi collection look like?
Themed 'Wanderlust', the collection - which consists of both menswear and womenswear - is bursting with rich patterns and luxurious fabrics across modern as well as classic Indian silhouettes that the two brands hope will "resonate with the global nomad mindset".
Indian textile and print traditions - which have been brought to life by the Sabyasachi Art Foundation - are of course among the key highlights of this collection, with beautiful printed dresses and separates set to be among the first of the sell-outs.
"I am happy to announce the new date for the collaboration with H&M," said the designer earlier this week, "as it gives us the opportunity to spread the Sabyasachi aesthetic to a wider audience in India and worldwide."
“At a time like this, we believe people value the use of homegrown crafts and textiles more than ever", explained Ella Soccorsi, Concept Designer at Collaborations & Special Collections at H&M, "and that’s something no one can do better than Sabyasachi. We look forward to bringing this stunning collection to as many people across the globe as we can."
When is the H&M x Sabyasachi collection launching?
Originally slated for several months ago and unfortunately delayed due to the pandemic, the H&M x Sabyasachi collection is launching on Thursday, August 12.
"Due to the complexities of the Covid-19 situation, we had to put the collaboration on hold", Sabyasachi explained, "but I’m eagerly looking forward to launching this ready-to-wear collection that will bring relaxed sophistication to everyday life in an understated yet glamorous style."
