Goth core beauty ruled the VMAs red carpet
Hey VMAs, The Addams Family called, and they want their vampy glam TF back.
Yep, at the 2022 VMAs, a bunch of celebs decided to channel their inner goth babe through their makeup, hair and nails – and quite frankly, we are so here for it.
This year, we are seeing countless celebs rocking a dark, vampy lipstick, be it a romantic deep red shade or a deep gothic black, the girlies came to show up and show out.
The evening's best looks are filled with hues of navy, deep burgundy, and jet black. A bit unexpected, sure, but nonetheless very glamourous and extremely cool. Things kicked off with the multi-hyphenated superstar and flute princess Lizzo, who opened the red carpet with a gown from Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring 2022 collection. But what got us fully hooked was the piercing heavy glam – because why have one hoop earing when you can have three, per ear? – paired with a lip ring to match the vampy, dark blue matte lip.
Then Blackpink’s Lisa, Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé also channeled their inner goth girl with black designer gowns but opted for a simple no colour beat which was giving us high fashion Morticia but in the most classic and wearable way. But no one quite channeled the Addams family like the beauties that are Sofia Carson and Dove Cameron, who were both giving 2k22 Wednesday Addams.
As autumn is approaching, it feels like this year's VMAs red carpet is filled with those transitional Halloween-ready look. So, from jet black hair to vampy red lips, here are all the celebs that went for gothic beauty for the VMAs 2022 red carpet. Wednesday Addams could never.

Dove Cameron said let me get that Wednesday Adams, but make it sexy. She got exactly what she wanted. The snatched wing gave that Bratz doll look we usually expect from her a different edge and the siren lips, whew, sharp, dark and sexy. She also nailed it with the vampy 3D mani (pun intended).
