Let’s face it, DA producers, killing off Matthew in a car crash at Christmas was a cruel blow – not to mention a shocker. A year later and we’re still black-clad mourning Downton’s delectable heir. Somewhere out there, we like to think there’s an alternate universe where Matthew made it home safely from the hospital, where the joyful new father kept his eyes on the road and so didn’t crash head-on into a truck… So if it’s not too much trouble Julian Fellowes, perhaps you could write his resurrection into series five?

Come the conclusion of 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises, we were all geared up for a JG-L to step into Christian Bale’s vacant leathers as Robin. We were also all geared up for the first time we’ve ever fantasised about Robin. Alas, no. JG-L will not be Robin. And Ben Affleck will be Batman. All is not right in the world.
