Fashion It girls 2016: 11 women we're obsessed with right now

Every year has its fashion wonder girls. Yes, there are women like as Alexa Chung that never ever lose their enviable cool girl appeal, but each year newcomers pop up that manage to influence, shape and impress fashion circles.
Whether it be a musician, actress, model or blogger, the women we're talking about are the people who you (read, we) want to be and who you find yourself stalking on Instagram late at night. They are our fashion girl crushes.
Without further ado, we present the 10 women we're obsessed with in 2016:
GettyAlicia Vikander
There will be no avoiding Alicia Vikander this year, which is fine by us. With a critically acclaimed performance of The Danish Girl under her belt, she is fashion’s girl wonder at the moment. There is something mysterious about the Swedish born sophisticate. Her style seamlessly masters effortless, cool girl femininity, earning her star role in Louis Vuitton’s latest campaign.
Getty ImagesHailey Baldwin
Hailey Baldwin’s sultry eyes, high cheekbones and full lips had already made her fashion’s go-to when in need of a model with attitude as well as a body to rival Gisele’s. And it seems we’re on the same page as Justin Bieber (something we’ve felt strongly over the last six weeks), who is her new proud new boyfriend – a man who can’t stop sharing pictures of the two of them enjoying lustful PDAs. After pondering whether it is acceptable to fancy a 21-year-old (It’s fine) we have decided we rather want to be Baldwin.
Getty ImagesBrie Larson
You might recognise Brie Larson from Trainwreck, starring our beloved Amy Schumer. She played Amy’s happily married little sister, but her star is about to rise in 2016 following her performance in Room – for which she’s nominated for tonnes of awards. As well as her obvious acting prowess, she also impressed on the red carpet, choosing bright, youthful ensembles – from emerald green slip dresses to star-printed gowns.
Getty ImagesSt Vincent
We have been somewhat hypnotised by the otherworldly St Vincent, who was already known for her experimental take on pop, jazz and electro (it’s excellent if you haven’t heard it), before she started dating Cara Delevingne last year. The latter detail has seen her profile rise, but we are entranced with the singer for other reasons. St Vincent – real name Annie Clarke – has a serene, posed air about her that we’re fascinated by. She also looks like a beautiful cross between David Bowie and David Bryne (who she’s dueted with). We can’t stop Googling pictures of her.
Rex FeaturesLily Rose Depp
The unsurprisingly genetically gifted Lily Rose Depp has become a favourite of the fashion pack, and, at 16, has already notched up a Chanel campaign, in which she poses as a questionable Lolita figure. This year, she’s landed her first magazine cover for Love, and has no less than three films coming out.

Pandora Sykes
Pandora Sykes, fashion blogger, Instagram star and Sunday Times fashion features editor, has cultivated a huge following due to, not only her playful, eclectic and funfilled approach to clothes and style, but also due to her self-deprecating and light-hearted way of writing. Her Instagram is seriously addictive and her fashion advice engaging and realistic. Based on her current success, we predict a book deal to follow soon.
Getty imagesGigi Hadid
Gigi Hadid has already kickstarted 2016 with a Vogue cover, so it’s fair to assume that this year will be hers entirely. Currently dating former one Directioner-turned-emo kid Zayn Malik, she’s been monitored even more closely (poor thing). But it’s not just her love life that warrants attention; Hadid is pure bombshell with a real voice. She has an insane social media following, which she often uses to opt down trolls, and a strong sense of style that toys between bold, attention-grabbing ensembles to more muted, ladylike looks.
Getty ImagesKristen Stewart
We long loved Kristen Stewart (read about why here), and our girl crush has been reignited in recent weeks as she’s began promoting her new film, Clouds of Sils Maria, showcasing a developed version of her tomboyish, irreverent look. A tweed Chanel skirt suit with trainers? That’s a yes from us.
FreddieHarrell/FacebookFreddie Harrel
Paris-born London-based Freddie Harrel is more than your average glossy fashion blogger – reading her blog and perusing her Instagram is step into the brighter side of life. There’s plenty of colour, smiling, jumping, patterns – Harrel’s blog is an inspiring, energising and playful place to be. She’s all about self-expression and knowing what you’re about. We’re totally charmed by her.
Rex FeaturesKelela
We first heard Kelela’s breathy RnB tones at Paris Fashion Week, when her music was played at the Paris Fashion Week spring/summer 2016 shows - from Louis Vuitton to Stella McCartney. Hers is an experimental, new wave take on the genre – and it impressed Solange Knowles so much that she hired to appear on her album, Saint Heron, which showcased the new generation of RnB artists. She could well be this year’s FKA Twigs.
Getty ImagesVanessa Traina
Founder of e-commerce and standalone store The Line, Vanessa Traina curates desirable clothes in chic apartments, where collections are presented in bedroom, kitchen and living room settings. She’s a New York fashion influencer of the highest degree, consulting for Altuzarra and Alexander Wang, and also known for her refined, understated style. We’ll keep looking out for her FROW appearances this year for wardrobe inspiration, and to see what clever fashion platforms she comes up with next.
