These are our favourite looks from the red carpets of Cannes Film Festival 2026 (so far)
Every year, Cannes Film Festival marks one of those major moments that grab audiences across the cultural spectrum – from film and fashion to music and broader pop culture. Cinema creatives from all around the world come together to showcase their latest, unseen work, across a 10-day period that can often be considered a vibe check of where the industry is heading for the year to come. For 2026, there is a definite focus on powerful women in film, as Barbra Streisand becomes one of the Honorary Palme d'Or recipient and the iconic Thelma & Louise closes off the film festival with a special, 35th anniversary screening.
There's also a strong line-up of queer films in competition this year, including the much-anticipated Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma by Jane Schoenbrun and co-starring Hannah Einbinder with Gillian Anderson, a re-telling of Virgina Woolf's Mrs Dalloway titled Clarissa, Jeanne Herry's Another Day with Adèle Exarchopoulos, Pedro Almodóvar's Bitter Christmas, and Ira Sachs' new film The Man I Love, starring Rami Malek as a theatre artist living with AIDS in 1980s New York.
And with such a strong cinematic line-up, major fashion moments are guaranteed. The red velvet-covered steps on La Croisette in Cannes have already begun serving their purpose as a dramatic backdrop for the flurry of style statements. Every day, there are dozens of looks that pop up, some incredibly bold, others somewhat conservative, but in style with the environment of the South of France. With Chloé Zhao, Ruth Negga and Demi Moore on the jury for Palme d'Or, many of the premieres are already set up with a strong fashion base. But what is surprising is that quite a few looks on the red carpet can be utilised as inspiration for wedding season – either as a guest or a bride. A mix of looks from the most recent shows, custom pieces and archival hits, these outfits are pure Pinterest heaven.
