These are the best beauty looks fresh from this year's Emmy Awards
As far as red carpet's go, the Emmys isn't known for being particularly trail-blazing when it comes to beauty and fashion. Whereas the Met Gala is a chance for celebrities to showcase their creativity, with experimental outfits and avant-garde hair and makeup, the Emmys is often a welcome return to old school, Hollywood glamour at its finest.
This year is no exception with guests serving some of the most elegant updos, including Kate Winslet's softly tousled chignon, Jurnee Smollett's voluminous beehive look, Taraji P. Henson's slicked back top knot and Emerald Fennell's twisted ballerina bun, while others, like Gillian Anderson, Kathryn Hahn and Catherine Zeta Jones decided on loose but nonetheless elegant lengths. One of our favourite hair looks from the night was The White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge, who showed up on the red carpet with tumbling blonde waves that had been swept over to one side giving us serious hair goals as well as Elizabeth Olsen, who rocked a chic bob and a soft smokey eye to mesmerising effect.

Makeup had its moment in the spotlight, too. Take Yara Shahidi, who stepped out wearing a shimmering interpretation of this season's biggest beauty trend – green eyeshadow, and Sarah Paulson, who matched her pillerbox red lipstick to her stunning puff sleeve, scarlet gown. We also noticed a few statement nail looks, namely Cynthia Erivo's, who wore extra long coffin-shaped French tips as well as Taraji's bejewelled stiletto manicure.
That's not to say there's aren't those who leap at the opportunity to make a style statement. Actress Emma Corrin turned heads when she arrived at The Crown Emmys Celebration wearing a pale yellow bonnet, which matched the shade of her gown and Billy Porter wowed with a striking silver ear cuff with necklace to match.
