One of the best things about makeup is you can wipe it off and start again. Day to day, you can create a completely new canvas.
The other thing about our makeup (much like our perfume and our hair) is that it can signpost a time and place. It's a time capsule. A visual representation of growth and the evolution of you and your style.
But also, it can be pretty darn hilarious to look back at photos of your mum's bouffant 90s hair in your baby pics, or your tragic uni photos, when the fake tan was as free-flowing as the jagerbombs in freshers week. Yes, you looked like a Wotsit, but at the time, you thought you were the bomb-dot-com.
Since we need some more LOLS in our life, we've rounded up some of our favourite celeb transformations feat ginormo false lashes from Lady Gaga whose lids were doing some heavy lifting back in the day, stripy tiger hair from Nicole Richie who's since settled on a milder honey shade and a metamorphosis from Jenny From The Block – sadly the knitted beanie and side ponytail are no more.
That's the great thing about celebrities. They have the ability to change up their style at a moment's notice – courtesy of the world's top professionals at their fingertips – which means the transformations are aplenty. There's brand new hairstyles, some cray-cray hair colours, subtle tweaks like brow reshapes, and teeth whitening. There's some filler, a few veneers and some absolutely cracking makeup switcheroos thrown in, too.
