The coastal grandmother aesthetic has blown up on TikTok this week. For those of you that steer clear of the addictive social media app, we've got the lowdown and, in summary, we're obsessed. 

It started when TikTok influencer Lex Nicoleta shared a jokey clip, seeking out her fellow Nancy Meyers movie fanatics, proclaiming that if viewers long for those Hampton's beach house vibes, then they might, too, be a coastal grandma. We're talking Diane Keaton in a cashmere turtleneck in Something's Gotta Give, we're talking a seafront beach house with hydrangeas and fresh flowers aplenty, not forgetting, of course, a token bowl of lemons on the counter. 

From Lex's description – which she has since fleshed out with several ‘how-to’ guides –it might be our dream aesthetic and, if you need us, we'll be on our sofas binging It's Complicated on Netflix for design tips.
