Camille Charriere: What happened at Coachella

As we all know, Coachella is unequivocally the chicest music festival (albeit, helped by its sunny weather and warm temperatures), so who better to report from the frontlines than half French, half British fashion blogger than Camille Charriere?

"Off duty gamine is my middle name," she once said and frankly, there aren't many women who work that enviable, dishevelled yet chic grunge look better. Known for her Camille over the Rainbow, here she tells GLAMOUR her highlights from Cocahella 2015:

Coachella is a mixed bag of music, fashion and fun in the desert sun and there are plenty of differences when compared to festivals this side of the pond. Firstly no-one makes it to the festival until around 5pm - the scorching heat makes it more of a late afternoon/evening event.

Secondly, while there's plenty of action in the valley, a large proportion of visitors stay in balmy Palm Springs, about a 40-minute drive away. The ritzy hotels of the resort city hold epic pool parties which keep Coachell-ites cool during the day while gearing up for the festival fun ahead. This year I hopped from the Coach backstage event at Soho Desert House to the R29xAOK Spring Break style party, DJ'ed by Alexa Chung at the Saguaro Hotel to H&M's pretty pool bar at The Parker. And this was all before the festival line up kicked off.

There are also two tiers of festival experience - the VIP enclosure which commands a hefty price tag and the general admission. The VIP area throngs with celebrities, bloggers and connected fashion and musos and offers up a host of delicious food stalls from organic Agave margaritas to vegan pizzas - not quite the same as a Glastonbury dodgy burger. The atmosphere is chilled and picture perfect, with many VIPs choosing to stay within the confines of the area.

From controversy - Madonna's 'face-rape' of Drake to bumping into the some of the most followed teens in the world (Brooklyn Beckham and Kendall Jenner for example) and hearing some incredible bands, Coachella continues to be the event that kicks off the festival season. And while there are some questionable outfits on show (think more Halloween than Kate Bosworth), there's also plenty of style to seen. Here is my picture diary of the first Coachella weekend, CC xx
