'Buttery skin' is the latest beauty trend that will give you the best glow-up of your life
In the fast-paced and fickle world of beauty, there's always a new makeup and skincare trend for beauty aficionados to trial. From the unstoppable rise of J-beauty, to lion mane brows, yoga skin and even face lift tape, the list is practically endless.
And as we venture into a new year of fresh trends (you can read about every single one here), there's one that hasn't managed to escape our attention.
'Buttery skin' is a new beauty trend we spotted on MUA, Isabelle de Vries' Instagram - and we're wholeheartedly obsessed.
As the moniker suggests, the look mimics the appearance of smooth, glowing butter on your skin (minus slapping the Flora across your face, obviously), and is achieved via good skincare prep and a clever concealing technique.

“Prepping your skin is key for this look," Benefit's Lisa Potter-Dixon told GLAMOUR.
Lisa has revealed how to get the Insta-famous look at home in just three simple steps. You're welcome.

1. Work a moisturiser into your skin and leave it for a couple of minutes before you apply makeup.
2. To create the ‘buttery’ effect, press your foundation into your skin with your fingers. Less is more, so don’t overdo it. The warmth from your fingers will bind the makeup with your skin beautifully.
3. Finish by applying your concealer with a fluffy eyeshadow brush to complete the look. Using an eyeshadow brush will give a light, airbrushed texture.
Like butter wouldn't melt, eh?
