Our favourite bottomless brunch spots in Newcastle to book for a post-lockdown knees-up
Hitting up Newcastle for a city break staycation with the girls this summer? Or a local looking to celebrate a special occasion (um, the end of lockdown?) with free-flowing bevs and delicious food? You've come to the right place.
It's safe to say that Newcastle has big bottomless brunch energy, and since bars and restaurants are hoping to have the green light to reopen from 12th April (outside) and 17th May (inside), many of the city's best haunts are now beginning to take reservations.
Take the very Instagrammable No28 – known locally as the city's finest hidden gem – where the weekend prosecco brunch serves up non-stop fizz (obv) alongside delicious beef, chicken, vegan or halloumi burgers, or a charcuterie/ veggie sharing platter.
Or over at Jam Jar Jesmond, enjoy unlimited prosecco while you gleefully mix and match bellinis or mimosas for two hours while tucking into the usual breakfast suspects including eggs Royale, eggs Benedict, a full English (or 'Full On Jesmond'), or our personal fave, 'Eggs Boujee' (English muffin, florentine spinach, poached eggs and hollandaise).
For something a little different to the classics, head on over to Sohe in the heart of Newcastle's culinary hub Jesmond, where Asian-fusion dishes are the name of the game. Because who doesn't love sinking prosecco while tucking into a katsu curry?

The boozy brunch at Banyan runs every day of the week until 4pm, where for a glorious 90 minutes, you can get merry on boundless prosecco, Coors, Bloody Marys, Aperol Spritz and Orange Blush Spritz, whilst tucking into the likes of breakfast hash, smashed avo and poached eggs – or for an extra fiver, opt for an 'indulge' meal including steak frites, chicken katsu burger and veggie 'meatball' melt. Bottomless supper is also available every day after 4pm for £30.95.

Sohe's weekend brunch is a must-try if you love Asian cuisine (and getting tipsy whilst eating it, obv). You'll get bottomless prosecco, Aperol Spritz, Asahi or Yuzu & Jasmine Spritz with a platter of starters to share and your choice of any delicious main, including the likes of chicken katsu curry, stir-fried tofu and broccoli in yellow bean sauce, and king prawn Singapore vermicelli. Jam Jar
There's the usual breakfast fare on offer at Jam Jar, with eggs, smoked salmon, avocado and French toast which comes in a 'sweet' option (eggy bread loaded with fresh berries and berry compote) or 'savoury' (eggy bread fried with parmesan, chorizo jam, black pudding crumb and pea shoots). Enjoy unlimited prosecco whilst you mix and match bellinis and mimosas, served 11am-3pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Don't fancy the usual brunch fodder? The very Instagrammable No28 – known locally as the city's finest hidden gem – serves up bottomless weekend brunch with a difference. For two hours with as much prosecco as you can possibly handle, you can dine on different types of burger with fries, a shared charcuterie platter or a delicious vegetarian sharer with falafel, olives, roasted pepper salad, tzatsiki and toasted pitta. Prosecco and pitta is a very underrated combo.

St. Vincent
This industrial chic venue is known for its vast and varied choice of wine, but on Sundays they offer a bottomless mimosa, prosecco, bellini for Bloody Mary option for £20 when dining from their brunch menu between 10am-3pm. Like the wine, the food is sourced from small, independent producers, from sweet buttermilk waffles and buttery scrambled eggs to truffle-topped macaroni cheese and red wine-braised beef cheeks.

The Alchemist
In Newcastle's city centre, The Alchemist goes all out for their 'Disco Brunch' between 10am-2pm on Saturday and Sunday. There's disco beats (of course), and the option of three beach club-style cocktails with a brunch dish for £25, or 'freak out' with unlimited drinks for an extra £10. The food menu is extensive too, with plenty of vegan or veggie options (hello, halloumi and avocado muffin) and – our must-try – a breakfast burrito with eggs, bacon, cheese, crispy hash browns and ketchup. Eden Collective
Served Saturday and Sunday until 3pm, the Eden Collective at The Gate let you choose between bottomless bubbles or bellinis and one brunch dish. Though the food menu isn't extensive, there's sure to be something for everyone with the likes of a smoked bacon butty, eggs Benedict and a full British vegan breakfast. With its beautiful botanical decor, Eden has multiple bars, club rooms and dining options under one roof, so there's plenty to explore post-brunch (if you can still stand, of course).
