Sick of screens? Join the letter writing revolution & send your friend a notecard with this seriously chic stationery
As we begin to see the light at the end of a dark Coronavirus-shaped tunnel (albeit a dim one), we’re reflecting on our time in lockdown. From the banana bread baking to the Dalgona coffee making, the Zoom fatigue and the tracksuit obsession - it has been a rocky old ride. Granted, we’ve still got a hell of a way to go before we can truly put the global pandemic behind us - let’s not get complacent, people - but it’s nice to look back on how far we’ve come.

If there's been one good thing about lockdown, it's that our ability to find joy in the small things has experienced a resurgence. We've got good at going back to basics. Couldn’t see our IRL bestie on her birthday? We sent all manner of gorgeous lockdown gifts instead of sending a Whatsapp. We did jigsaws to pass away the hours. We went on long walks after work instead of binging on overpriced cocktails. We sent flowers to our grandparents when we missed them. We found new ways to reach out to our loved ones and show them we care - in lieu of real life contact.
Our latest obsession in the long line of old school pastimes is letter writing: the art that has experienced a lovely and unexpected resurgence since we decided to stay home. Need proof? Papier reported that writing paper sales are the highest they have ever been, while sales of greeting cards, notecards and writing paper have increased by over 300% .
In celebration of putting pen to paper, we've rounded up the best stationery to send notecards and love letters to the people you're missing. Whether it's their birthday or just because. After all, who wouldn’t get a rush of excitement when they receive a handwritten letter in the post? Just knowing that someone has taken the time to write you an actual real life letter actually makes you a bit teary (maybe it’s the heightened lockdown emotions?). We know what we'll be doing this weekend...
