21 best pinky rings to wear and match with your bestie
From Hailey Bieber to Meghan Markle, Rihanna to Lionness captain Leah Williamson – pinky rings are everywhere right now. Worn on our little fingers, they're summer 2025's defining Girl Trend, but pinky rings are also shaping up to be autumn's most-wanted accessory.
As if that's not enough reason to give your fifth digit some love, pinky rings are having a moment in the spotlight as the new friendship bracelet. “As friendship rings, they’re a beautiful way to celebrate your chosen circle,” says Lynette Ong, founder of Edge of Ember. “It’s like wearing a small but mighty reminder of your support system, and it tells a story only you and your friend truly understand.”

But pinky rings can also be a symbol of self-love and worn to express your own personality or style. “We see them as little icons of identity; they’re bold, personal, and often the most expressive piece of jewellery someone wears,” she adds.
In terms of style, they can take the familiar form of a heart-shaped ring, or they can feature a nostalgic motif, such as seashells, to immortalise that epic beach holiday together.
Pinky rings can be chunky or dainty, too. You might like to wear a signet ring on your fifth finger, studded with crystals that spell out your initials. Or you can opt for stackable bands featuring gemstones, as well as matching ‘bestie rings’ in glittering diamonds.

Pinky rings are a feminist statement, too
Beyond their current appeal, pinky rings have quite a history. Traditionally, the pinky finger was reserved for signet rings worn solely by men to either seal documents or to signify wealth and social standing. “But over time, they became less about bloodlines and more about individuality and identity,” says jeweller Laura Vann.
In the ‘80s and '90s, pinky rings became part of the power dressing aesthetic with women wearing them too. “Think oversized gold, diamonds and confidence,” says Laura. "They were no longer just old-school or aristocratic – they became symbols of self-made success.”
Fast-forward to 2025, and women are once again reclaiming the pinky finger. Laura says: “They're turning a once-exclusive male symbol into a personal statement of autonomy and strength – and I’m here for it!”
This is echoed by Maddy Sangster, co-founder of Heavenly London: “What was once a symbol of patriarchal heritage is now a canvas for self-expression. It’s a quiet rebellion, and a brilliant one: a historically male gesture transformed into something bold, feminine and modern.”
So every time you glance down at your hands, you're reminded of both your power and your friends – what could be better than that?
How to wear a pinky ring
The first thing to note is that there are no rules for how to wear a pinky ring, just that the pieces you choose are “layered with sentiment and intention,” Lynette notes. Also worth remembering: some jewellery brands have sections dedicated specifically to pinky rings; others have rings in small sizes that you can choose to wear on this finger.
If you're looking to buy a pinky ring for yourself, you may want to choose a more modern design. Otiumberg has an entire collection of pinky rings, where the Knocker Ring in mixed metals is a standout. Or for a wide selection of signet rings, look no further than Astrid & Miyu, where the Cosmic Signet Ring, featuring a pavé star and moon, is a bestseller.
Lately, Laura admits that she's seeing “large solitaire diamond rings worn as pinkies. Maybe this is a statement to say that luxury that doesn’t take itself too seriously. There’s power in placing something traditionally seen as ‘precious’ in an unconventional spot - it feels rebellious, personal and a bit joyful.”
In which case, you might like the Laura Vann Sophie Green Enamel Signet Ring, featuring a large white topaz set in green enamel. I've also seen Heavenly London's The Pebble Ring with its giant, light-reflecting moissanite stone, gracing the pinky of many an influencer this summer.
When it comes to friendship rings, Lynette has this advice: “Whether you and your friends choose identical designs or go for rings that reflect your individual personalities with a shared element – like matching engravings or a common symbol – it’s all about personal meaning.”
You don't just have to stick to one pinky ring, either. So take your inspiration from Hailey Bieber, who is a fan of pairing diamond-encrusted and simple gold bands together, and stack delicate designs with those that play with different coloured gems or birthstones.
