We have SO many good films to look forward to, from the Oscar winners to the return of cult classics
This year is set to see the comeback of the film industry.
Last year saw huge delays to big-money blockbusters and highly-anticipated indie films and sequels, and this year, they're hoping it's finally their time to grace our screens, whether theatrically or via streaming services. And to say we're excited is a veeerrry big understatement.
Case in point: Dua Lipa (!!!) is set to make her acting debut in the much-anticipated spy-thriller Argylle.
If that wasn't enticing enough, Marvel have also released a trailer called 'Marvel Studios Celebrates the Movies' with a massive line-up of things to come. Excitingly, it includes brand new information that the new Black Panther film – one of the highest-grossing movies of all time – will be called Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Though the full cast is still unknown – lead actor Chadwick Boseman died of cancer in August last year – Marvel have confirmed that his role as King T'Challa will not be recast.
The film is set for release on 8th July 2022 and to say we are excited is a massive understatement.
But don't worry, until then there's plenty of spectacular films to get stuck into...
If you love a revenge-style thriller, you'll want to see just-released Without Remorse on Amazon Prime Video. It's based on Tom Clancy’s 1993 bestseller, starring Michael B Jordan as Navy Seal John Clark, whose pregnant wife is murdered on US soil, apparently by FSB agents in a revenge attack for John killing Russian special forces in Aleppo as part of a hostage rescue. He wants his revenge - and will stop at NOTHING. Jodie Turner-Smith and Jamie Bell also star in this nail-biting action movie.
Oh and there's more good news because Idris Elba recently confirmed that the Luther movie will begin filming this year – finally!

Idris confirmed that a film version of everyone's favourite BBC crime drama (okay okay, bar Line of Duty) was in the works last year, after the series ended in 2019. And now after months of speculation, he's given us something to look forward to.
When asked for his plans for the year on MistaJam's 'All-New Capital Weekender' show, Idris said: "Definitely making more music...Listen, I'm going to be making Luther: The Movie."
He continued: "I'm super excited and I hope the fans are sort of excited for that. It's been a long time coming for a movie, for people that have loved the show. We've been making the show for 10 years, so we're making a film."
Speaking on the film's potential plot last year, Idris said: "The sky is the limit. You can be a little bit more bold with the storylines [in movies], and a little bit more international, and a little more up the scale. But John is always going to be John Luther."
Get excited, people!
