Mariah Carey just revealed she bathes in milk (of course she does...)
Mariah Carey is one of pop's greatest and most unashamed divas so the latest insight into her beauty regime hardly comes as a surprise.
When asked by The Guardian whether she really does fill her bath with mineral water (as opposed to the basic tap water that us mere muggles bathe in), she responded with an even better revelation.
“No, I bathe in milk," she retorted.
When asked for more information, she said: "Yes, sometimes I use milk as a beauty treatment," but added: "I don’t want to give away all my secrets."
Never change, Mariah.
Miss Carey isn't the only smooth-skinned beauty to douse her body in the white stuff.
She may start work at the crack of dawn but This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby always looks on point when she graces our screens at 7am.
So what's her secret to looking so glossy 24/7?
Well, the TV starlet has shared one of her go-to beauty tips for achieving smooth, glowing skin - and you're going to want to get your pens at the ready.
Speaking to Red Magazine, Holly revealed that she gleaned some beauty advice from beauty boss, Liz Earle, the woman behind her self-eponymous brand known and loved for its Hot Cloth Cleanser.
Holly explained that Liz advised her to indulge in milk baths. Yes, you read that right.
"She [Liz] made a milk bath for Mother’s Day (she got that old school dried milk powder (like your nan used to bring on holiday to put in your tea) and dried rose petals covered in lots of rose and lavender essential oils, and mixed in with the milk powder. Then you just take a scoop and put it in your bath to make a milky bath - it’s so soft!", she said.
How very Cleopatra of the duo.
We know it's great for building strong bones and healthy teeth but beauty buffs have been preaching the benefits of adding milk to their skincare regime.
Women have taken to Reddit in their droves to rave about the beauty benefits of the drink, claiming it leaves their skin smoother, more radiant and pimple-free.
It's little wonder that women are seeing the benefits of adding the nutrient-rich liquid to their regime; it's packed with vitamins, calcium, and protein.
Milk also contains AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), the anti-ageing ingredient that luxe brands are packing into their products, making it perfect for slowing down the ageing process.
There are countless ways to incorporate milk into your beauty regime; the simplest way is to splash some over a piece of cotton wool and use it to cleanse your face.
You can also make your own natural face masks by mixing milk with honey, oatmeal and a splash of olive oil. Beauty buffs claim this concoction leaves skin supple and glowing.
Adding milk to our beauty regimes is nothing new; ancient goddesses famously bathed in the white stuff.
If it was good enough for Mariah, Holly and Cleopatra, it's good enough for us.
