Autumn Winter 2017 beauty trends: The looks you’ll be wearing this season
As highlighted over in our Autumn Winter 2017 hair trend report, this season was about resistance and female empowerment. While hair acted as armour, makeup and beauty didn't play by the rules, proving women will not be told what to do. Clashing eyes and lips defied classic 'pick one' beauty rules, while power pouts and bold nail art were unashamedly defiant.
This doesn't mean to say the new season's looks are unwearable, however. The long-standing 'no makeup makeup' trend experienced a grown-up, polished upgrade and pretty - yet fearless - pink hues were worn on eyes, lips and cheeks. With a flash of metallic, a sprinkling of lash mania and a whole load of glossy skin, there are so many new trends that will look as impressive off the runway IRL as on it.

We're no strangers to the concept of 'no makeup makeup,' but this season, it took a glossy, expensive turn. Skin was extra fresh and lips and cheeks were slightly flushed. One of our favourite looks came from Dior, where perfected brow arches took centre stage.

Maison Margiela took it up a notch with these rainbow graphic eyes.

Pink was reinvented this season and rather than being shunned for appearing overtly pretty and feminine, the colour was used as a sign of strength and power. At Oscar De La Renta, there were bold washes of colour on the eyelids.
