76 best chick flicks to binge this Valentine's Day

Chick flicks – a cinematic genre we've grown to appreciate more than ever over the past few years. And Valentine's Day is the perfect time to honour them.
In times of uncertainty, sometimes all you need is your best mates, wine and some snacks, a few face masks and a girly story on screen, whether that be a '90s rom-com or a sad movie to sniffle those woes away to.

But what are the best chick flicks out there? If you're looking for a classic noughties number, look no further than our forever-queen Hilary Duff living out a fairytale in A Cinderella Story. For something to leave you feeling empowered, check out Charlie's Angels with our favourite trio Cameron, Drew and Lucy. There's also Legally Blonde, of course.
Or there's our best pick of chick flicks from the last 12 months… maybe the latest (and final) Bridget Jones instalment or Bridgerton star Simone Ashley's Picture This?

Running time: 1 hour 49 minutes
What: Adapted from Emily Henry's banger of a YA novel, PWMOV follows the adventures (and undeniable chemistry) of “best friends” Poppy and Alex. For the OG rom-com fans, it's kind of got Love, Rosie vibes (Sam Claflin and Lily Collins, we owe you so much) in the sense that these male-female friendship duos are just so clearly meant to be together, but they must go through a hell of a lot (and a few other partners) before they realise it. Damn good fun.
The best bit: That confrontation in the rain. IYKYK.

The best bit: Honestly? Not even the overarching love triangle plotline… We loved the film's incisive look at the state of modern dating and how we've moved into looking at potential love matches as commodities. Capitalism, amirite?

You must always have faith in people. And most importantly, you must always have faith in yourself. Congratulations class of 2004. We did it!”. And, of course, the Bend and Snap.

He plays a kind of annoying jazz-obsessed musician but the man makes it work! And Emma Stone is as incredible as ever. La La Land also seriously succeeds at showing off the true beauty of LA – those scenes at the Griffith Observatory are nothing sort of iconic.
