In a series of interviews with Vogue , VS Angels Adriana Lima, Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Behati Prinsloo and Sigrid Agren talked about how it all began, and gave readers a snapshot of what they looked like back when they were young aspiring models.

Here is Doutzen Kroes, who raved about the opportunities her modelling career has given her, saying: "I'm married, I have two children; I've become great friends with so many incredibly talented people in the industry. I've learned not to take any of the accolades for granted and have realized that fashion is fantasy. After all, we're adults being paid to play dress up-and how amazing is that?"

"My advice is to smile-even if the casting agent isn't," she added. "Remember to breathe-and be the best version of yourself.

And here's Behati Prinsloo, who said of her Polaroid: "It was from so long ago, I looked like such a little baby! It was awesome-I just remember my agent making a big deal about it. I was kind of fresh, not knowing a lot about fashion... My agent kind of prepped me and I had to know who shot each picture and who styled it-I was kind of overwhelmed! But I got it down. It was about ten years ago, and seeing that Polaroid now takes me back."

And here's Sigrid Agren, who said of her first ever VS show: "It was one of the best experiences of my career because I've done a lot of shows during Fashion Week, but this one was such a different experience. It's very gratifying and exciting-there are so many cameras and media, along with the performances, the people singing, and the audience. I feel like now I know more about what it is, I'm more prepared, and I'm looking forward to it. I can be more comfortable and enjoy it more."

Then we dug deep and found some more Vogue pictures of VS Angels Adriana Lima and Karlie Kloss...

Here's Adriana, who said of her first casting experience: "I was nervous and proud. I thought, How did I get here? How did a small-town girl from Brazil who wore T-shirts, ripped denim shorts, flip-flops, and ran around on the beach get into the big glass doors of Vogue? I didn't really know how, but I was there and it was amazing."

And lastly, here's the beautiful Karlie, who talked about being late for her first ever casting meeting: "I was running late. I was so nervous. I was in a taxi on the phone with my agent like, 'Oh, my gosh! I'm going to be late, I'm going to be late to meet Anna!' although I was definitely not going to meet Anna. But in my mind, I was like, This is the one day I can't be late. I was probably fifteen minutes late and I thought the world was going to end. But the bookings editor was so nice-I don't think she even noticed. I was so nervous that it was going to be canceled before I even got to the casting."
