The BBC's latest drama, Versailles, is a camp romp through the court of King Louis XIV. Fantastically frivolous, it makes The Tudors seem like Wolf Hall. In the first 10 minutes of the series we have two sex scenes and a stabbing - but the thing that really grabbed our attention? The hair. All the men have long, flowing, glossy locks that would put a Kardashian to shame...
Behold King Louis XIV (above), played by George Blagden, with his brunette tresses. Did they have conditioner in 14th Century France? King Louis' brother, Phillipe (Alex Vlahos), also has some on-point hair game...
King Louis has clearly mastered how to do beachy waves...
Now meet 'The Blonde', Phillipe's lover Chevalier (Evan Williams), who's been hitting the John Frieda. No frizz for Chev.
#wokeuplikethis - in the scene below King Louis has been alerted in the middle of the night of a plot to assassinate him - but his hair? Still great.
Watch Versailles on BBC Two on Wednesday nights (and dream of good hair)
