While eager festival goers have been waiting by their keyboards for early bird tickets, Richard Branson has announced that he is axing V Festival as we know it.
His company, Virgin, will no longer be sponsoring the music festival, where P!nk and Jay-Z headlined most recently.
Richard said "V Festival has always been a special weekend for everyone at Virgin. We’ve been proud to sponsor V Festival for the past two decades and there have been some incredible performances on the stage. Now, after 22 very enjoyable and successful years, 2017 was Virgin’s last V Festival."
The festival will still run but under a new name, depending on the sponsor, and we're placing bets on what it could be...
Any thoughts on us sponsoring, and it becoming G Festival?
