After an amazing run on Line of Duty, Vicky McClure is back with Trigger Point, a brand new TV show in a scarily similar role, and the first look teaser for it has just dropped.
In ITV's upcoming drama will feature the actress as a bomb disposal operative – anyone else getting Bodyguard vibes?
Here's everything we know so far.
What is Trigger Point about?
The six-part series will look at counter-terrorism policing and be full of thriller-like moments.
The main characters are bomb disposal operatives who are working up against the clock to save lives.
ITV have said: "Under extreme pressure and searching for answers, [Vicky McClure's character] can’t help but become suspicious that the bomber is premeditatedly targeting her unit.
"It’s a terrifying thought, but against all odds how does she prove it and discover the bomber’s real identity?"
Who does it star?
Alongside Vicky, Adrian Lester will take on the other lead role. We reckon they that they could well become our new favourite TV duo.
The This Is England actress plays Lana, a former member of the military. Adrian plays Joel, also ex-military and the pair actually served together in Afghanistan.
There's already a strong friendship between the two it seems, so they'll likely work well together.
When will it start?
All we know from the newly-released first look video is that it will be sometime in 2022, hopefully earlier in the year rather than later!
Jed Mercurio is involved of course – like in any hit mainstream drama series – meaning it might stand up well to Line of Duty, his most successful show yet. The vibe of the show also seems to be full of suspense, much like Mercurio's other smash show Bodyguard, which had the majority of the UK glued to the edges of their seats during and after its airing in 2018.
Is there a trailer?
There is a very action-packed first look for you to feast your eyes on – shared directly from Vicky's own Twitter account.
