Almost more exciting than whatever is going on with the British royal family IRL is what's going on with Netflix's hit series based on their lives, The Crown.
The drama series has just cast its Prince Williams—one to play the now 40-year-old as a teenager, the other to play him in his late teens and early 20s—and its Kate Middleton for season six. Deadline reported on September 2 that Rufus Kampa will take on the role of the younger Wills, while Ed McVey will portray the slightly older William. Both actors have certainly got the jawlines to make convincing princes.
Meg Bellamy will star in The Crown as young Kate around the age when she and William first met at the University of St. Andrews, where they studied art history. This is the first TV role for all three actors.
Per Deadline, Kampa will appear in episodes detailing the family's grief over the death of Princess Diana, who died in August 1997. McVey's parts will largely center around the courtship of Kate.
Season six will begin filming later this year, with Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Dominic West as Prince Charles, and Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth. Season five will premiere in November 2022.
Prince Harry has yet to be cast for season six, though I am and forever will be rooting for Ed Sheeran. He may not be a teenager, like Harry will be in the sixth season, but that's what CGI is for!
