It's that time of year — the promise of spring is in the air, but the skies are still just as unremittingly grey and dreary as ever. It's no wonder many of us turn to escapist TV like Temptation Island.
Netflix's dating new show may be about romantic temptation, but honestly, we are more tempted by the sizzling tropical locations. Oh, to be lounging on a sandy beach under a palm tree!
If you have also been feeling tempted by Temptation Island's gorgeous locations, here's everything you need to know.
What is Temptation Island?
First, a little refresher — after all, the show isn't actually about the island, it's about the temptation.
Netflix recently picked up the reality show for its ninth season. In this version of the dating show, four couples arrive on Temptation Island where they part ways and live with a group of singles of the opposite sex. Then, they are faced with various challenges to tempt them away from their partners. (Is it the most ethical show? No.)
At the end of their time on the island, each couple decides whether they want to stick with their original partners, break up or leave with someone new. Brutal.
Where is Temptation Island filmed?
Temptation Island was shot in Hawai'i's Kailua-Kona, a large town on the west coast of the tropical island. The cast members lived in two separate villas while filming.
Occasionally, the cast ventured out to various spots on the island. Some viewers spotted Cheeky Tiki, a beachside restaurant in the area. Other shots were reportedly filmed at Kona Salt Farm, a nearby tourist attraction.
They also ate out at Magics Beach Grill and Sunset Kai Lanai, as well as a Gypsea Gelato on the island.
Temptation Island has set up camp in Hawaii since it moved to the USA Network in 2019. Season 5, for instance, used The Lodge at Kaloko on the Big Island, while other seasons were reportedly shot on the island of Maui.
However, when the show was first launched on Fox in the early 2000s, it was filmed in Belize.
The aesthetic is super dreamy.
