Sometimes, love is blind. Other times, it's downright unpredictable. And apparently, the next season of Perfect Match will feature the latter kind of love story.
For those of you not deep into the Netflix reality romance cinematic universe, Perfect Match is a kind of all-stars show that sees people from all of their reality shows coming together for a sort of Love Island-style speed dating game show. And it's pretty hardcore: singles have one night to find a match — anyone left without a partner is booted from the show. Each day, one couple picks two new singles to enter the villa and that night, everyone pairs off again, leaving two people single.
This kind of cut-throat set-up may not sound like the most productive way to fall in love — and, let's be honest, on the first two seasons, it really wasn't. However, we just got a major spoiler about the upcoming third season during the latest Love Is Blind reunion — and our minds are kind of blown.
Wait… what happened on the Love Is Blind season 8 reunion?
Ok, so, earlier this week, Netflix dropped a Love Is Blind reunion episode. Not only did we catch up with the Minnesotan couples from season 8 of the show (we had so many thoughts, by the way), we also got to catch up with some people from previous seasons of the show — including AD Smith, from season 6 of the US version of the show and Ollie Sutherland, who appeared on the UK version.
And guess what? Not only are the pair together, apparently, they found love while filming season 3 of Perfect Match. I guess Netflix has no problems with spoilers when they have news this cute to share.
From pods to happily ever after.
So, Love Is Blind's AD and Ollie are engaged?
Yes. And the moment they shared the news on the reunion was super, super cute. The pair walked in hand-in-hand. Then, AD shared the news that she was launching a podcast called What's the Reality. The Lacheys then cut to a promotional video.
“We went from inside the pods,” said AD.
“And over the pond,” chimed in Ollie.
“Straight to the beach," she went on.
The pair then revealed that they were filming Perfect Match season 3. It seemed like the end of the video, but it went on as the pair walked off across the beach holding hands. Ollie then surprised AD with a beautiful set-up of flowers and candles on the beach. “What is happening?” she said in confusion. Ollie then knelt down on one knee and said, "You're my best friend. You're the love of my life. I've never felt as happy or as complete as I have since I met you, and nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life loving you.”
This is definitely the first time Netflix has shown us the end of a reality show love story before showing us the beginning — and honestly, it kind of worked. We are literally pumped for season 3 of Perfect Match after that.

After the video, Ollie spoke about their journey on Perfect Match (you know, the journey we have yet to actually witness).

“Even as early on as when we were on Perfect Match, I noticed that we were having the deeper conversations, the more important conversations, talking about shared values and similar outlooks on life,” Ollie said during the reunion. “I think that really laid the groundwork and the foundation for the beautiful relationship we have now, and I definitely attribute a lot of that to our experiences on Love Is Blind."
