If there is one thing Taylor Swift’s fans enjoy doing, it’s amateaur sleuthing into her song lyrics and looking for revelatory gems.
The latest? According to many fans on Twitter right now, they are convinced that the lyrics in her latest album, Midnights, contain the details of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynold’s unborn child.
The line in question comes from the album’s fifth track, ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid’, in which Swift sings, “I see the great escape, so long, Daisy May.”
Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, currently have three daughters.

Many of Swift’s fans are certain that Daisy May is the name of Blake’s yet-to-be-born child and took to Twitter to share their thoughts in as little as 17 minutes after the album dropped.
One fan shared: “Calling it now Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds baby is going to be named Daisy Mae #MidnightsTaylorSwift”
It didn’t take long for more to join the speculation party. Another Twitter user posted: “I love coming to Twitter to confirm things like - yes other people also think Daisy May/Mae is the name of Blake Lively’s baby #MidnightsTaylorSwift.”

They might not be wrong. After all, Swift has used the names of Lively and Reynold’s three daughters - James, 7; Inez, 6; and Betty, 3 - for characters in her 2020 Folklore album, where she even used ‘Betty’ as the name of a track. So, this might be some clever detective work.
Swift spoke about doing so in a 2020 interview with People, revealing, “I named all the characters in this story after my friends’ kids... and I hope you like it!”
“I’ve always loved that in music you can kind of slip into different identities and you can sing from other people’s perspectives. So that’s what I did on this one.”
The singer also spoke about their inspiration when she picked up her 2021 Album of the Year Grammy, thanking James, Inez and Betty in her acceptance speech.
The countdown has begun…

The couple have spoken up about Swift using their children’s names in her music. Reynolds said in a 2021 interview, “The names are the names of our kids, but we trust her implicitly, and she’s very sensitive to any of that stuff. And obviously the song has nothing to do with our kids other than our kids’ names.”
While Swifters might be onto something, they of course, may have missed the mark on this one. You might remember back in December 2020, they thought Swift’s album Evermore revealed the name of Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik’s baby on the track, ‘Dorothea’ - this turned out to not be the case when the couple named their daughter Khai.
