Taylor Swift is giving us autumn beauty goals

The singer is a total mood for the new season and she's given us some major inspo.

If Taylor Swift was a season, she'd be autumn. Right? Her signature aesthetic –plaid coats, cosy knits and baker boy hats – has ‘fall’ vibes written all over it. Even her lyrics nod to the season with references to pumpkin patches and golden skies and her SNL performance of ‘All Too Well’ saw her crunching through flame-coloured leaves with her guitar slung over her shoulder.

In fact, now that we think of it, Taylor's always been an autumn beauty icon. Of course the classic winged liner and red lip combo she wears so well works for any season, but really, she's been devoted to the ‘70s vibe since before #70saesthetic scooped up 285.5 million views on TikTok. And the look works particularly well for autumn.

She's made a trademark out of textured shag haircuts in sepia shades of honey blonde that nod to autumn auburn. And heavy, swooshy fringes that skim her lashes. Or vintage cat-eye liner, and eyeshadows in retro cool blues. Add it to her flannel shirts and corduroy buttoned mini skirts and Taylor Swift is a total mood for autumn – and we're seriously crushing.

While her album covers have had an undeniable autumn theme (Evermore saw her in a rust-coloured tartan coat, staring out at trees that had just shed their leaves), her latest album, Midnights, has seen her raise her beauty game, with three deliciously cosy hair and makeup lewks that we'll be recreating asap.

The first sees her heavy fringe coaxed forward alongside a glitz midnight blue smoky eye, softly bronzed skin and a nude lip.

The second sees her hair tied back and her fringe swept toward one side with rock ‘n’ roll black liner.

And the third sees Tay-Tay lying next to a retro wood-veneered piano with her shaggy hair sliding messily away from her face.

It's a slight departure from the long loose Stevie Nicks-style hair she served up while recording ‘All Too Well’ (the ‘Sad Girl Autumn Version’), but Taylor never strays far from her autumn girl aesthetic – so we're taking notes.
