We simply can't keep our eyes off Sydney Sweeney at the Met Gala 2025. The baby hairs! The ultra-long nails! And most importantly? The dress, of course.
The Met Gala red carpet has already got off to a winning start, with the likes of Zendaya, Gigi Hadid, and Queen Diana Ross making fashion statements on the flowery carpet.
But it's former GLAMOUR cover star Ms Sweeney who has really captured our attention. The Anyone But You star wears a custom Miu Miu beaded dress, complete with a chest-baring cut-out, diamond drop earrings, and a statement gold brooch.
This year's Met Gala theme is “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” focusing on the “black dandy” and high-end menswear. Fans are certainly impressed with Sydney's look, with one tweeting, “Sydney Sweeney is the moment”, and another describing her as “the people's princess.” A-men.
Styled by Molly Dickson, Sydney's look pays homage to Hollywood legend Kim Novak, who wore a similar gown in The Legend of Lylah Clare in 1967. Sydney is all set to play Novak in the upcoming film Scandalous, which, fun fact, happens to be Met Gala co-chair Colman Domingo’s directorial debut!
In her cover interview with GLAMOUR UK, Sydney reflects on the media coverage of her outfits. “When it comes to red-carpet pics and they’re like, ‘Sydney Sweeney displays bust,’ or ‘Sydney Sweeney wears a scandalous dress,’ I’m like, ‘I’m wearing the exact same dress someone else would be wearing! I just have tits.’"
She continues, "Everybody’s body is beautiful. When you are confident and you’re happy within is when it really shows to other people.”
