There is one lip product currently making waves on the algorithms: Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil. And with good reason. Sitting somewhere between a lip balm, a tinted oil and a lip gloss, this multi-hyphenate delivers a buttery-soft texture and high-shine pop of colour that is catnip for TikTok.
Delivered via a doe-shaped wand that hugs the lip line, the formula is packed with skin-loving ingredients including antioxidant vitamin E, as well as nine plant-based oils and a vegan collagen alternative that is perfect for nourishing and repairing dry lips.

And while the Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil borrows from both a balm and a gloss, it’s infused with a sheer wash of colour that lasts hours after it has been swiped on – meaning you can layer the oil over lipstick or wear it alone.
Available in four nude shades – Pink Cloud, Soft Mauve, Blush Dreams, Rosewood Nights – the oils are both vegan and cruelty free, and tick the box for anyone who is averse to the stickiness of many lip products.
To see if the lip oils truly are all that we hope them to be, our GLAMOUR staffers put all four shades of the Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil to the test. This is what they thought…

Shade: Soft Mauve
Blame it on the cold weather or just a need to step up my beauty game in January, but I'm definitely in my lip oil era right now. These Summer Fridays Lip Oils have shot to the top of my favourites list, especially the Soft Mauve shade, which is a berry hue with a soft lilac undertone. I love the shade and, unlike a lot of lip oils where the tint is barely visible, Summer Fridays has hit the sheer but buildable sweet spot. It's not sticky in the least and I could definitely see the difference in the texture of my lips after just one use – it packs a seriously hydrating punch! The doe-shaped wand deserves a special mention, too, as you can use it to push the tinted oil slightly over the lip line for a plumper pout that is incredibly natural looking. All in all, this soothes wind-whipped lips and wraps them in a gorgeous pop of colour, which is surely what we all want at this time of year.

Shade: Rosewood Nights
This launch couldn't have been better timed. My winter lips are in dire need of nourishment and from the second you pull out the doe-foot wand with a sploooosh, you know it's going to be good. This coats lips in the yummiest, plushest cocoon of moisture, but it also feels weightless and comfy (without any stickiness). It actually packs an impressive amount of pigment that you can sheer out or layer up, too. I was surprised by how much I liked the brown shade, Rosewood Nights. It's a departure from the pinks and corals I'd normally choose but it taps into the '90s and latte makeup vibe nicely. However, because it's sheer, it's a more subtle entry. As well as making lips look healthy, it also delivers a cocktail of juicy ingredients. We love a multi-hyphenate.

Shade: Pink Cloud
I was pleasantly surprised by the Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil. There has been a sea of lip oil launches hitting left, front and centre with their promise of soft, plump lips all day. Many just miss the mark so I didn't have high expectations for this. The shade range seemed super pigmented in the bottle but after some umming and ahing with our Associate Beauty Director I opted for Pink Cloud. From the looks of the bottle, I thought it was a bright pink but upon application it was a sheer, effortless natural pink that I've dreamed of for my other lip products. The soft brush glides across my lips with ease and has a pillow-like bounce that is slightly addictive. The lip oil has a light feel that isn't too overpowering and layers well. It leaves your lips looking glazed and has a menthol-y refreshing feel, which makes it feel even better!!

Shade: Blush Dreams
I'm a lip oil girlie through and through, so best believe that as soon as the Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil landed on my desk, I was hooked almost immediately. I went for the shade Blush Dreams, which is a gorgeous mauve-y nude that is ideal for everyday wear. Seriously, I couldn't stop thinking about all the lip combos that I can create with this stunning universal shade. Above all, I loved the ultra-nourishing yet completely non-sticky feel, as well as the surprisingly pigmented finish. One thing I can say for sure is that it is definitely joining the rota of my go-to makeup staples. An easy 10/10.

Shade: Soft Mauve
As someone who is perpetually applying Vaseline, I love a good lip oil because they're often moisturising while also being an easy way to elevate a daily makeup look. Having seen the rave reviews of the Summer Fridays Dream Lip Oil, I was excited to try the formula for myself, particularly as others I've used in the past have be on the stickier end of the spectrum. I love how wearable the Soft Mauve shade is and was immediately impressed with the colour pay-off. The soft applicator made it a breeze to apply smoothly, with the texture of the product itself being wonderfully buttery and incredibly moisturising. This is definitely the most comfortable lip oil I've ever worn and I will 100% be reaching for it again!
